The Maybe was to Diafol.

I liked what I saw before the leg break but unfortunately, for United, it was only a short period of form. If he could be as solid as that over a season though he'd be a really good player for us.

He needs to improve massively going forward. Even when he was playing well his end product wasn't very good.

Very frustrating in that aspect. He runs, at times, were good but his delivery poor. Evra's delivery wasn't the best either but he did get in amongst it.

There's a big chance here for Shaw to take if he wants as no one has nailed that position down even during his omission from the side. I'd like to see him start tomorrow with instruction to get forward at will.

Agree with that. I wouldn't be surprised if we sign a left back in the summer, though. Hopefully it's one that is good going forward and can push Shaw to up his game.

If we're not going to play with out and out wingers which is the way it's looking at present we really do need to look at full backs with a good delivery into the box. I'm sure Zlatan would have scored even more if we had someone would could do this regularly.

"“Until now, no-one runs away when I arrive at the training ground"
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Apologises, what is he referring to with this comment?

Pleased to hear that Shaw is back. To be fair, Rojo, Blind, Darmian have hardly impressed and nailed the LB position.

Rooney is on his way i see?

posted on 3/3/17

Yeah that's true. Though Mourinho doesn't tend to play with two attacking full backs. I think we'll end up getting a proper winger at some stage, I don't think Mourinho likes not having one.

posted on 3/3/17

At present Blind is a better LB than Shaw.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Blind does some things better than Shaw but he struggles against quick powerful wingers. At their best I'd have Shaw over Blind at LB any day.

--

Blind definately better. Shaw a limited footballer, although I'd marginally give him the edge defensively, due to physicality only, blind is better in every other area. Not even close.

Yeah. SAF seemed to like one FB to be more defensive than the other as well IMO.

I think the summer will tell us a lot about the direction he hopes to take us and whether we'll get what he wants or a 'galactico' signing.

posted on 3/3/17

I think we could still get what he wants and a galactico signing. They are the sort of players he wants as well.

I still think there will bit a bit of juggling for him to do. I think by the third summer transfer window Mourinho will very much have his Manchester United squad.

Annoyingly that's usually when things start going downhill.

I just hope a Galactico isn't thrust upon him more that he identifies a player (Galactico or not) that fits with what he wants to see from the side.

Regarding his third year I do actually see him staying longer, and certainly longer than Pep at City, due to the fact we do tend to leave our managers to get on with things in the main.

posted on 3/3/17

I'm not sure whether that'd happen, to be honest. As much as Ed loves a galactico I get the impression he has a massive hard on for Mourinho, and won't try and impose his will on him.

While that may be the case with regard to the three years I'm still expecting Mourinho to have a meltdown.

Hopefully Jose will be clear in what and who he wants and Ed can do the rest.

I'd probably take a Jose meltdown if it's on offer now if we get the good beforehand. He's always left decent team behing IMO and ones that have reached CL finals and won leagues pretty soon afterwards.

I actually think pogba was an ed signing rather than a Jose signing.

posted on 3/3/17

I don't, Mourinho wanted him at Chelsea.

I don't want a Mourinho meltdown, he can faxk off before it gets to that stage.

posted on 3/3/17

Strikes me as the sort of galictico (lite) that Ed's been hankering for, which is why I think he was the driver. I doubt morinhio would have had any objections.

I doubt that. Strong rumours Jose wanted him at Chelsea but Roman wouldn't cough up.

But that doesn't suit Baz's agenda that Pogba was a vanity signing bought for his commercial appeal.

No agenda of the sort, but now that you mention it, it makes sense.

I don't Pogba was a Woodward signing but Giggs and Shaw almost certainly had a hand in it.

It's no surprise we wanted Pogba. He at the time of signing was and still is the most highly rated young Cm in the game

posted on 3/3/17

The Pogba signing made sense both on the field and off it.

It was a signing that will probably only become superb in a few seasons. Then Baz might cheer up
