The guy needs a rest he looks knackered.
All dab and flash haircuts, doesnt seem professional to me like a giggs..gerrard..lampard. Not a guy u can rely on at all.
I think the issue for Pogba is that when we are getting more desperate toward the end, he feels the need to force the issue, when simplicity and calmness are still required.
I might need to go to specsavers though, as I didn;t think he was utterly dreadful yesterday, like others do... He played in some nice lobbed passes, got into some great goalscoring positions... just wasn;t happening for him and, yes, he was too wasteful in possession (but also won us a couple of good freekicks)... I don;t remember him being beaten much, or leaving huge gaps though... If you had just read the matchthread, you'd think it was the worst performance in history. (Obviously at £90m, we should expect much better, i'm not saying he was any better than average/ok)

He and Ibra have been playing too much lately
Don't think anyone would have argued if they had not started yesterday and in hindsight a different line up with rashford starting hell even fellaini might have put Bournemouth away in those first 20 mins
Jose use, or lack of, regarding bastian irks the hell out of me. No logic or sense in it at all
Didn't Brian Clough once give Roy Keane some advice along the lines of "get the ball, give it to someone in the same colour shirt"?
Someone could do with telling Pogba the same.
He's still young in terms of great central midfielders.
He wasn't bought to be world class now but to be at our club as his world class years start to happen.
He'll learn from this IMo and round off the edges to his game.
What is Pogba's role?
I know what DDG does: he keeps goal
I know what Juan Mata does: he is a playmaker
I know what Ibra does: he scores goals
I even know what Fellaini is meant to do, and sometimes he does it and sometimes he doesn't: disrupt set pieces and be a target man.
What, though, is Pogba's role?
- He can't shoot
- He can't play one or two touch football
- He can't tackle
- He can't beat a player. All he does is take awkward short touches and role the ball to his left and then get fouled
I've heard he can work well on the left hand side of a three man midfield, but what does he do when he's there?
I don't give a rat's a$$ if he sells shirts. Why can't a marquee signing not sell shirts AND be good at playing their clearly defined role?

Robb he's long enough playing now to have dealt with these flaws. Theres a time and place in games for certain things and pogba at times wilfully ignores the times when he shouldn't be showboating or fizannying about
he's been a little underwhelming for me, but - and i guess the price tag encourages this - he is in danger of being underrated by everyone.
here's how he compares, on a per game basis, to two highly regarded players, one attacking, one defensive:
http://www.squawka.com/comparison-matrix#premier_league/2016/2017/paul_pogba/641/641/2710/0/p|premier_league/2016/2017/n$golo_kant%C3%A9/641/641/14999/33/p|premier_league/2016/2017/philippe_coutinho/641/641/2673/0/p#total_passes/tackles_won/successful_take_ons/key_passes/total_score#avg

f@ck it, obviously copying and pasting is beyond me today.
anyway, it showed that, per game, he makes more passes than either kante or coutinho, fewer tackles than kante but c. twice as many as coutinho, more successful take ons than either, and c. 3 times as many key passes as kante (and almost the same as coutinho).
ie he is doing good things in both respects (as well as plenty of bad ones, agreed)

Interesting way of getting metrics. Thanks for this.
I compared Pogba with Kante, Ozil and Hazard. All quite different players. Pogba's high attack score surprised me, and certainly he looks favourable here. However, Hazard spanked Pogba on both attack scores and defense.
Pogba's passing accuracy, completing and range are surprisingly good.
The two areas where he's still weak according to these stats are defensively and shooting/goals scored.

i doubt many united fans are delighted with him this season, and he has had the odd stinker, but the stats at least suggest that he isn't the pub player some claim - even with a bit of hyperbole firkin (!)
and a few weeks ago certainly he had hit the post more than any PL player (and more times than he had scored), so his shooting needs a slight tweak and it will look a lot better. or united can pay the PL to have thinner posts.
I have not seen the game yet, from what I am hearing this guy must've had a stinker. Some idiot the other day said Pogba can surpass Scholes and apparently his shooting as good.

What has that got to do with what I wrote? We are living in an era of football wherein the midfield role is dying- no real talent. Good luck to him if he does, however he should not be mentioned alongside Scholes.
He will never be as good as he was for Juve. Totally different league and playing style and everything. He will prove to be a stinker of a signing in the long term, trust me.
Doesn't really matter though as you lot spend money like Madrid so you can easily make up for it.
