This is down to the decision of very few in the hierarchy though.
Just like the UK bombed Iraq, is that on your head, being British and all?

Think we can all agree that war is a terrible thing. But condemning the US for what has happened in say the last century is naive and simplistic.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm only blaming them for what they (the government) have done, not blaming them is to excuse it as just one of those things. They have caused and still are causing an insurmountable amount of pain around the world.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What actual wars do you blame the US for ? Incidentally just about all US presidents have declared they are religious.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The obvious ones are the two gulf wars, Afghanistan, Vietnam.
Just those alone have led to a ridiculous loss of life.
The less obvious ones are the conflicts they have created in other countries with the help of the CIA, South America for example.
Even we helped people like Pinochet.

Can't really reason with a nation that has 200,000 people willing to join a force like ISIS.
"Afghanistan was invaded after 9/11. It was a reaction to the Taliban harbouring AQ."
It was a nonsensical reaction to 9/11. Given that the terrorists and their funding were Saudi, and that the US Govt believed (and I think still does) that those who orchestrated the operation were of Pakistani origin and operating from Pakistan.
The Taliban also denounced the 9/11 attacks at the time, and have repeatedly since.

Kung Fu Cantona *JeSuisPalestinian –
With the Christians I know, there is usually disagreement based on how much significance is placed on the OT (where most of the more controversial Bible passages come from). As HenrysCat pointed out though, since the Bible is made up of multiple books written by multiple authors, it allows some leeway for Christians to be selective on which parts they think should be taken more seriously then others.
Even within Islam, there isn't really any absolute authority on the correct interpretation of the full religion. There are various different sects and even within the same sect, there are different schools of law. These denominations may have opposing views on some aspects of Islamic theology and thought. Regarding FGM for instance, I've read that within some schools of Islamic thought, the practice is encouraged or even considered compulsory – which is why it has mostly become an issue among Muslim populations around the world. I think there would be fewer problems surrounding all religions if there was more clarification and agreement on the correct understanding of the religion and it’s sacred texts.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The authority would be a Khalifa which we don't have because we aren't allowed and any mention of wanting one in the Muslim world is considered extremist.
There are a lot of difference today because each tyrant in the Middle East picks and chooses what they want their citizens to follow. Under Ottoman rule the Muslim world wasn't as fragmented besides the obvious sects like the Shias which is more political than religious.
The word interpretation is brought up a lot by non Muslims but it's important to understand what is interprable and what isn't.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don’t necessarily oppose the concept of an Islamic caliphate throughout the Middle East if it helped unite and improve the area. However, I’m not convinced it would work now since the entire region is far too divided. If it were to be implemented, there would be hostility among many within the region to the concept. Therefore, a lot of conflicts and wars would need to occur to help establish it. Even the Ottomans were only able to establish one through their military might and the same would need to happen again.
I don’t consider it an extremist belief but I can understand why others would. If you met someone who told you that they wished that Europe would unite as one Christian Kingdom (Christendom) that is ruled by Biblical laws, would you be open to the idea or consider their views dangerous?

Afghanistan was invaded after 9/11. It was a reaction to the Taliban harbouring AQ. The first Gulf War was a reaction to Iraq invading Kuwait. The second followed the first and has hopefully shown the US that invading an alien culture is fraught with difficulties.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wow a lot of excuses.
Saddam (a tyrant) was given power by the US and Britain.
His invasion of Kuwait in part was also helped/encouraged by the US.
http://rense.com/general69/41.htm
9/11 was a reaction to almost 100 years of bombing and pillaging the Middle East amongst other things. Bin Laden clearly states this.
And the 2nd Gulf War was as illegal as they come.
Vietnam was a blood bath and civilians were deliberately targeted by soldiers and raped.

You'll find athiests on here who believe the exact same thing.

The obvious ones are the two gulf wars, Afghanistan, Vietnam.
Just those alone have led to a ridiculous loss of life.
The less obvious ones are the conflicts they have created in other countries with the help of the CIA, South America for example.
Even we helped people like Pinochet.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Afghanistan was invaded after 9/11.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you acknowledge the good they've done?
You seem to want to group them and ISIS together but have ISIS done anything good?exactly

And another thing.
America rejected the Talibans offer to hand over Bin Laden.

I recognise the good American people have done and you have a handful of individual politicians that lobby for good causes but if you think the Government as a whole is a force for good in anyway then it just proves my point that you are a bit of a hypocrite when you call others brain washed.

And here it is, like I said you are brain washed.
You are told to think that if somebody criticises the government, brain washed into believing that espeacially of the person is Muslim.
You'll find athiests on here who believe the exact same thing.
Soldiers who believe the exact same thing.
It feels like if you find out your beloved democracies are a sham then your belief system will pop and you'll have nothing to live for.
It's funny how you suffer from the same delusion you accuse religious folk of.

Why are you asking me if I achnowledge if they've done any good?
You blatantly know I think the people separate from government do good.
Why are you asking about the Government?
You like to ask questions but like dodging them, do you achnowledge you live in a system of control?

I tell you what's weird.
I write pages and pages of on these threads denouncing Daesh and discrediting them with actual Islamic evidence and you ignore it.
The moment I call the American government evil as well as Daesh then all of a sudden I'm close to becoming a terrorist.
Do you understand how deeply Islamophobic and insulting that is. Especially because athiets on here have expressed the same hate towards American foreign policy.
