Kevin Muscat against Matt Holmes resulted in a court case years back that settled for £750k.
Taylor shouldn't be condemned, but his tackle should. He lunged in and was high with too much wayward aggression.
What do people mean by condemned?
Pundits and media alike should call him out for being a reckless, brainless idiot. None of this, "he's a good lad" or "not that type of player" nonsense.
In the past month alone, I've seen 2 or 3 similar challenges on arsenal players. Passed off by commentators as meaty or tasty challenges. If those were a few inches either side of where they were they could have been leg breakers.
The quicker the players are called out on it, the likelihood is they'll actually think before putting in stupid challenges.
Really horrible looking injury. Very poor tackle but as someone earlier referenced, i don't think you can give longer bans for the result of the tackle. The ban should be directly linked to the act, not sure how result imo.
Hope Coleman makes a speedy recovery. Very good player and comes across as a decent fella to boot

Good point really.
I remember once a good mate of mine ended up going to prison for an accumulation of misdemeanours against the civil services. Namely the hospital staff on the Mentally ill wing; and then the police.
I worked very closely with the lad for 15 years from me being 18, him a bit older, up until a couple of years ago. Weighs about 9 stone as well so he's not someone who throws his weight around or causes a nuisance; just likes to keep himself to himself, on the whole.
So the day he gets a trial after both incidents, I was in the office telling a sales Rep about what had happened, the gory details from both,
Owner at the time, who'd been to court for him as a character witness, to give you an idea of how well he was liked, she came in crying, saying "he's been sent down, I can't believe it" "he's such a lovely lad"
The rep I'd been talking to went to hug her and looked at me, "yeah, sounds like it"
3 months he got. Definitely calmed him down I reckon.

Yeah, the Lincoln City one on Ozil was awful, yet the commentators applauded it. Alexis was very lucky with the McClean one last week as well, commentators thought a yellow was a little harsh!!!
My opinion remains the same, in that it was an horrific tackle, but on examination, taylor sticks his boot out, Seamus then tries to kick the ball, and does, but in the process, such was the force of his kick he struck Taylor's back leg with such a force and caused his own to break. It still makes it no less a terrible tragedy for the boy. I wish him well.

The red allowed to much to go in the first half, first yellow wasn't till the second half but there were plenty of tackles on both sides that should have been carded.
The first half was poor but you could see the players were much more up for it second half and wales needed a win and were frustrated at the lack of chances they were making especially Bale, then in the space of a minute the two tackles went in.

Rojo launched himself, two-footed, on Zaha at Selhurst earlier this season. Luckily Wilf wasn't hurt but how the f**k Rojo never received ANY colour card baffles me.

Bale's tackle was worse
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree, he was, late, high, and out of control with his lunge on O'Shea, Taylor's was poorly timed but the force with which Coleman went in was also a contributing factor (not blaming him obviously but it was a factor), I think the fact O'Shea had just cleared the ball and had his feet of the ground prevented it from being any worse.
Obviously feel for Coleman, terrific player for club and country and is the driving force for both, I also feel for Taylor, when you accidentally injure someone as bad as that you feel terrible about it, which I think is what people mean by "he's not that type of lad" as appose to Ben Thatcher for example, who deliberately did stuff like that every other week and WAS "that type of lad."

Highly unlikely and not reported over here, I know Taylor went to the Irish dressing room after the game to apologise but Coleman was gone to the hospital at that point.
Obviously terrible to see this happen to our captain but feel Taylor Is being over vilified this happens in football

It could have happened in training with ROI or Everton.
Blaming Taylor won't change what happened or stop it happening again.
Bad luck on the eve of the derby game also, wish him a speedy recovery, hope you smash the Pool without him.
Hope Coleman recovers from his horrific injury and is back to his best soon.
