I like T2 but find The Terminatior to be a better movie, it's man v machine as opposed to machine v machine, plus John connor is a right litte douchebag

Agreed. T2's greatest success was in the groundbreaking computer graphics it used for its f/x, which made it a breathtaking film to watch at the time. In terms of technologicaal advancement, I think you might say it was to live action cinema what Toy Story later became to animation.

Also, despite the novelty, it manages to use just about the right amount of special effects. That is praiseworthy in itself, imo, as there is your amount of films that have been ruined by over 'fx-ing'.

However, as far as the actual story and its execution go, The Terminator for my liking is the better film by a fair distance.

good post mate completley agree, I remember seeing it as a kid and being blown away by it.

And totally agree on the level of FX it uses, like the best scene in it for me is when John is in the arcade, Arnie has the shotgun in the roses box and the whole chase from there, very little fx in that whole sequence.
