Bavuma what an absolute liability, hopefully that's the end of him in test cricket.

So you are gonna call their top run scorer in the 1st test a liability yet the rest are fine. I see right through you boss. Leave politics out of sports
21 tests average of 32 and just 1 Century to him name. Hes just not at the required level and plenty of others would have been dropped for them stats.
Who should play in his place?
I'm sure SA cricket has someone better as his 1st class average is a measly 37.
Englund missing Dumbiny big time.
Boss don't be so harsh on Bavuma!
If they would I'm sure that person would be playing.

Good day for England coming up today...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Englands biggest issue for the ashes will be their bowling. Only broad will be effective in those condition.
Viru,
Don't u think that batting let them down more than the bowling. They skittled to a mere score of 205 on their first innings! I think the bowling wasn't that bad compared to their batting. Without Root's score, they look lot worse..
Facty
The problem I see with the batting line up is that the middle order are all stroke makers. There's no one I can see that will put the shutters up when the team needs to like yesterday.
Facty in this match yes, but I was actually talking about the ashes. This bowling attack lacks steam, even today they really lacked the ability to quickly get the SA batsmen out, and I reckon this has to be SA's weakest team for a very long time.
Viru n Wonder,
Good points my frnds but overall I think England will struggle big time when they tour overseas. They are already not doing so well at home so imagine how they will compete outside their comfort zone!
If u folks remember, India was too generous with England regarding pitches last time they toured and still got whooped 4-0. Now I don't think England will do the same nor are they stupid to give any advantage to India when they tour them..

yeah...somewhat disappointing...
Well England aren't going to chase 474 to win and they aren't going to save the test. Our poor first innings outing has cost us the game. However I'd just like to see a few players apply themselves and look to bat time.
The last thing I want to see if the batsmen just going for their shots from ball 1 and getting 130 all out off 30 overs. As can always be the case in test cricket, 1 wicket can closely be followed by a 2nd but lets not lose 4 or 5 in the space of a handful of overs for a handful of runs.
haha how the hell can you get bowled defending? jesus the end of Jennings hopefully
Well on one hand, at least he didn't get out by playing an expansive drive. On the other hand, getting bowled like that is pretty poor. I think he'll get the series though.
English batsmen bar Root who presses forward all of them get stuck half and half. against Philander you cant get caught in the crease.. You have stand outside of the crease and press even further forward..
We basically allow bowlers to bowl the length they want.. All am saying is.. England's batsmen are not technically good enough.. Apart from Root that is.
England's search for a decent opener continues.....
Ballance will either get caught in the crease "trying" to get forward.. or when South Africa's spinner comes on.he will get caught at leg slip trying to swipe the ball down to fine leg..because hes been out that way numerous times
we saw when SA battered some of their batsmen batting outside of their crease.. to alter the length the England bowlers bowled..
That's where the coach comes into.. he should direct our top order to push way forward and be ultra positive with their foot movement..
You cant get bowled defending.. am sorry that's just ridiculous.

I think we've already found that opener but he's woefully out of form. If he can get some runs in August and September then he'll be back in the squad for the Ashes.
Philander is bowling pretty damn well at the moment. Fair play to Du Plessis for going for the review, would have been easy to not go for it after losing a review in the previous over.
