No but I think he's overrated that's why

1) how is Barkley overrated when it's trendy nowadays to not rate him?
2) can you not see the difference between £50m for 28 year old Sigurdsson who flopped at a big club before, and £20-30m for 23 year old Barkley?
Soon to be 28 year old I should say
Question for you Spurs fans.
As it looks likely we'll be replacing Ross with Sig (which I am not happy about as I think Ross is superior plus he is younger and a fellow blue), just wondering who you guys would prefer as Sig played for you, albeit not for long?
Would you rather have Sig or Ross? Forget current transfer values, who do you rate better?
Personally I'd rather Barkley as he's got more to his game and young enough to continue to get better.
Sig is pretty much a dead ball specialist and not much else

Absolutely agree Henry, although Ross still needs to learn when to pass, I have only ever seen Sig as a dead ball specialist but you guys have seen more of him than I have
I liked Sigg when he was with us but do not think he is anywhere near good enough for a top 4 club.
Dead ball he is exceptional, and he puts in a good cross. Takes an unneccessary amount of shots (9th most per game in the league), slow, doesn't get involved in the build up, not a great eye for a through ball. He is just like Dempsey, not good enough for a top team but great for a mid table one.
1) Yes it is trendy not to rate him. Despite him creating more chances than anyone his age in the top European leagues, football fans call him 'braindead' etc
2) Barkley has done more at Everton in his very early 20s than Sigurdsson managed at Spurs in his mid 20s.
I suspect the reason other big clubs aren't as interested is that they're already loaded in attacking midfield i.e. Man City
Bluenose
I'd rather Barkley than Sigurdsson all things equal. Sigurdsson couldn't get in Spurs teams ahead of Dempsey or Chadli
A lot of people underrate how well Barkley did in 2017. It helped that he played in a good midfield for the first time in a few years, alongside Schneiderlin & Gueye he looked quality.

I think our main disagreement is mainly that you see Barkley as purely a bench player. I think he'll play a lot of minutes
There's no way we could get a better player than Barkley for less. We could always pay £12m for another bench player. What's the point though? Doesn't improve us

Again agree.
Get him signed so we can move on please levy

Yeah, totally agree and as we are looking to break into the top 4 (or 6 now) we need to be aiming higher than Sig.

The Viera bloke you are looking to sign instead looks far better, but don't watch much La Liga admittedly.

Or could be that he wasn't that great last season. Maybe that.
There's a reason there's been more teams linked to Sig than there has Barkley. It's because he had a much better season.

What teams linked with siggs that are bigger than us linked with Barkley?
Oh really. And which big clubs are in for Sigurdsson. Who created far less than Barkley from open play last season
Why are Leicester not in for Barkley, for example? They have their sights set more firmly on Sig.
Because Barkley would never move to Leicester
Honestly Barkley is so underrated it's crazy

Lesta really? It's a step down or at maximum a side step.
Today's reports ( not that I particularly believe them ) are Us, Man U & Chelsea are looking at Barkley so all much bigger than the likes of lesta
Barkley may not want to move to Leicester you're right. Sig may not want to either but they appear to have more interest in him.
Hengy, I never mentioned big teams, I just said teams.
First I've heard about other big teams looking at Barkley this summer. I guess he isn't that much of priority target for them otherwise you'd think they'd have made moves already.
