Disappointing but very far from game over, we could easily be heading over having conceded at home. Better not be any injuries at the friendly on Saturday
a few points on last night
Forrest is a joke, just a joke.
not having a CF crippled us, no target to aim for, the ball kept going to ntcham and then out to lustig who had no support, he would look up and there was NOBODY in the box, so i have no idea what he was meant to do.
Tierney had a similar problem with sinclair, no support.
genuinly dont know what formation we were playing, it looked like rogic was dropping deep and forrest and sinclair were 2 CF's
from a club perspective, this all goes back to what i said the other day, we never build from a position of strength and we run the risks in these qualifiers
"aww bit we've nae money"
bullschit, utter bullschit.

do we not know who we want? are we just hoping something decent comes up?
where is the plan there?
I have been a critic of Forrest for years and although he wasn`t alone last night in being ineffective, what annoyed me most was seeing his movement. He wasn`t trying to lose his man so he could accept a pass and almost always, when Lustig came down the wing, Forrest disappeared inside into a bunch of defenders. The few times he did try to do something was modtly move inside, or just run into someone. For me, he was hiding and Hayes should have been on way before he actually did come on, as replacement for Forrest.

i thought hayes showed a lot of players up when he came on last night tbh
movement was good, gave 100%
see if griffiths isnt going to make next week, go and get a striker now.
we know demebele is going to go, go get a striker because if we play like that again we are out.
also, that game was screaming for mcgregor.

This is what happens when a manager takes his son on tour.

Glad someone finally said it instead of dancing round the issue.
Rodgers oot!

Thought I'd put it out there before the beast from the east remembered it
Aberdeen's opponents Apollon Limassol are ranked higher than Rosenborg
Just thought I'd get that out there
Can't register anyone new for the 2nd Leg keny so doesn't matter if we sign anyone.

Just to be clear.. when I was predicting 4-0 a couple nights ago, it was just false bravado. I doubt any of us genuinely believed we'd brush them aside, especially with no strikers.
Wis it aye
You're false bravado even named the scorers as your remarked to Gonger
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Which should've been the give away.. unless you honestly thought I believed Forrest would get a double
The gane was brutal, absolutely brutal. Can thank our lucky stars that Rosenborg didn't score in that 2nd half. If they had a bit of quality in the final 3rd the tie should be over already.
Too much side to side passing and giving away needles fouls all the time and inviting pressure. Brown I thought was atrocious.
Real worry if Griffiths doesn't make next week. BR said he's more hopeful than confident he will
The game just kinda summed up the last week at the club tbh.
One positive was that we didn't concede and the tie is very much still all to play for. If we concede an early goal next week then we'll be really up against it as they'll then revert to sitting in.
Crazy how the squad looks so bare all of a sudden. An injury to Tierney, Jozo or Lustig and we're royally fooked, not to mention having no striker.
Major blow Dembele will miss all these qualifier

Timmy,
Last night you said we`re out! 0-0 each was a fair result, they had a few good chances tho,you missed the thumb (sillyboy) last night, will he make the second leg? I said last night that young Tierney looked sluggish as did most of the Celtic team, everything to play for still
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I would say they are slight favourites.
bugger.
better pray griffiths is fit then because if not we are out.
ntcham btw - is anyone seeing a number 10 there? early doors i know but he sits quite deep?
"As Pointy said to me recently
"Chins up"
Fixed
They are a poor side though and we really should have been taken something over there.
Griffiths being a fud could come right back and bite you's now.
Still should do it in the second leg.
The game just kinda summed up the last week at the club tbh.
=======
it did we were on a high and they totally deflated us.
also, and this is really f...ing me off btw, we aren't replacing izzy?
so tierney is to play 50 games this year? and if he gets injured we are to play calvin miller in there, a lad who isnt naturally a left back?
thats a disgrace btw.
Griffiths wasn't fit to play anyway mate
he's injured anyway ronald
Don't think he was signed as number 10. Rodgers said he's the number 8 type player who picks the ball deep and gives us a good passing range. Also said he gives us power in the middle.
Thought he showed all of that last night, albeit he faded 2nd half. Terrific passer of a ball, apart from his two pings up to me when aimed for KT
Said that last week mate. Last season Tierney got injured at a crucial stage and was out for 3 months, missing CL games, cup final, rangers games etc. What if it happens again? Big ask for Calvin Miller who is in fact a left winger.
It's just frustrating, the same thing happens every year at this period, we never seem to give ourselves the best possible chance.
That's Celtic I guess. Big night ahead next week, we can do it but if no fit striker I'm struggling to see how at this point.
