From memory, last tournament Ronaldo wasn’t that good and Quaresma was the star attacker,

Yeah a good generation of players has come through. Cb is still a problem, bar Dias, from what I know. But they could probably get away with Pepe for another tournament. Their manager is so defensive that they can protect a 38 year old in a tournament.

I’m pretty excited about this Euro’s but that’s largely cos I hate Spurs currently.

So many question marks about the team now due to form and fitness - but I really think the likes of Grealish can make a difference.

Yeah I am too. I’m starting to worry a bit about England for those reasons. Now there’s the added issue of Kane’s future being a potential distraction for him.

I am absolutely gagging for the Euro’s, I can’t wait for them to start. Always love a tournament summer, it’ll keep me distracted from getting my hopes up about transfer targets.

I don't think it's a bad pairing for a tournament as Pepe is still a good defender. He usually plays well when I watch Porto. I still facking hate him though.

He’s grate. I can’t wait to see some of his shiiiiithousing at the Euros. Preferably causing Benzema to get sent off, causing a complete meltdown for France. International tournaments are owed drama like this.

Daz, what was your reasons for hating Wolves again? You told me in the past, but I can't remember .

Their anti-football. And their Chinese owners basically giving Mendes carte blanche to run a football club. Their fans are inbread. There’s just nothing likeable about them.

I think I need a break from club football which is why I think I'm even more excited for the Euros although I'm less optimistic about England's chances than I was maybe over a year or so ago because of Southgate plus as Edin said the form and fitness of a few players is a worry now.

I also know there's something I'm not going to like about Southgate's squad when it's announced on Tuesday.

I just love international tournaments, regardless of England’s chances. Euro 2008 was probably my favourite tournament and we didn’t even qualify.

I’ve never had more fun that last World Cup cos pubs were nuts and that summer was insane in Ldn.

2010 was pretty fun around African club drama; South Korea/Japan was quality due to an overload of attacking talent and corrupt officials

Yeah there's something really special about them. Even games between lesser nations, they just can't be missed.

When I think of Euro 2008 I always think of Turkey rather than Spain, especially their last group game. It was amazing.

The last world cup was amazing. London should be mental this year, with Wembley hosting so many games. Just a shame it’s not full capacity.

Hoped to get a Czechia style bite with Ldn there

The Dutch were amazing that tournament, before facking it up against Russia. The quality and entertaining in that tournament was probably the best ever.

Mad to think that 2010 World Cup Uruguay squad, a nation as small as that had a player like Forlan who is comfortably behind the other two strikers in terms of career.

Can’t think of many other similar situations, maybe Croatia with Brozovic/Kovacic being comfortably behind the other two midfielders - but they aren’t a patch on Forlan.

Sacrilege. Forlan was better than both and I won’t be told otherwise.

That's one thing I would like to experience, being in England when a major tournament is on, especially when we're hosting one, whether I got tickets for games or not it wouldn't matter. I'd fly over anyway and stay for a bit.

Our win against Colombia is arguably my favourite football moment of last decade, certainly recent years anyway.

I've not celebrated in the same way since or for quite a while before it.

Dier.

Ajax CL semi for me comfortably - but Colombia was definitely second. Kane was unreal that game, our tactics were pretty poor every decent midfield we played we got overwhelmed as it was basically Henderson vs the opposition

posted on 21/5/21

Forlan made the Scousers cry you know, so take that back!

We'd win the Euros if we had Brozovic and Kovacic.

Trippier’s free kick. I just blocked out the rest of the game.
