both madrid clubs in european finals again
Could do what the Milan clubs managed in 93/94, as was discussed earlier.
Tonight needed more Costa wumming. Wasn’t much of it apart from when he got booked for throwing the ball away then going for Mustafi.
Another Spanish double likely. Has there ever been a decade where a country has been more dominant in Europe?
Germany in the early 40s?
I don’t think so. Could be 12 European titles (six each for the CL and Europa) this decade if they both win. Pretty incredible.
Germany's spell might have been shorter, but they dominated everything between Calais and Leningrad though.
As expected, Tu. Would have been nice to go out on a high. Maybe this will give the club the kick up the aris to sort the club out? Would hate to be the next man trying to sort this mess.
Recruitment will be down to mislintat and that sanllehi bloke, they just want a coach who can get the best out of the players we bring in.
It's going to be tough though, for sure. We need a revolution in defence and midfield.
The coach will be a part of the process, I’m sure. Arsenal’s summer recruitment will be the most fascinating of all the prem clubs.
I fear for Arsenal, Tu Meke.
Depends how early they bring the new guy in, and how high profile he is.
If it's a young coach, I doubt they'll get much say in recruitment, they'll just be happy to have an opportunity at a club like arsenal.
If it's a big name, then there'll be a lot more transfer politics going on.

We're the sixth/seventh best team in england right now Ioag. Unless we completely bollix up this summer, I can't see us being much worse off.
I'd imagine the idea behind getting the Dortmund head of recruitment in is to find talented youngsters and give them a PL platform to boost their market value.
It seems more a plan for profit than for success.
Yeah that’s true. The world cup being on makes it possibly the worst time to be bringing in a new coach. Especially with the transfer window cut short now.
Difference was that Dortmund never had the financial clout Arsenal have, so it doesn’t lend itself to Dortmunf’s way of operating just because they have their head of recruitment.
I mean after all, they signed two of Dortmund’s ex players in their late 20’s for big money between them.

The troubles of being a self sustainable club. The real problem there is Kroenke, but there really isn't anything we can do about that. We can protest as much as we like, he's still staying.
Yeah, world cups gonna be a bit of a bastaard for us this summer.
We suffered with it when appointing Van Gaal.
I know, tu meke, Kroenke's the problem and, worse still, I heard he's just handed the Arsenal keys over to his apparently not too competent son.
Daz, not sure what drove those two signings, tbh. Mikhi was a calculated gamble, imo, seeing how badly they'd facked up on Alexis.
Auba just a piece of transfer mkt opportunism.
There didn't really appear to be all that much to justify either other than Arsenal being awful.
They might have more clout than BVB, but the financial competition in the PL is far greater. A few yrs without CL footy plus a bit of Kroenke asset stripping, and they could become the next Everton.
Hope I'm wrong but, as tu meke says, the American owner wants his dividends and that's all he cares about.
Either he sells up or Arsenal fans should give him the tar and feathers treatment and chase him out of town.
As I say, Gazidis, Mislintat and Sanllehi seem like the holy trinity for now. Josh Kroenke probably will be given more influence over the next couple of years, but we'll deal with that when it comes.
Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan seemed like short term signings to send Wenger off on a high. That went well.
I hope it all goes well.
I actually think Arsenal could do well with a policy like Dortmund's of bringing in exciting, dynamic youngsters and giving them a good run in the league, and of favouring pressing, attacking football. You'd also have the financial muscle BvB lack to hold off predatory clubs.
The fans would love that, but I don't know if there's going to be enough patience to see a plan like that through.
