Yeah Costa doesn’t seem to suit your midfielders who I thought were very good yesterday, unsurprisingly. Love Saul such a talent.

I also thought Asensio had a bit of an annoying performance.

Put in lots of long deep curling crosses that look nice but are easy for the keeper to collect

asensio will be good for spain, if they are ahead in a match and the position starts pushing up to chase the game...he's better with space in front of him...bit like Bale really

Asensio is probably the one most suited to linking up with Costa as well

The forwards are clearly a concern, but I think the fact we've now got midfielders who are much more threatening from outside the box (Saúl, Isco, and Asensio when he drifts more centrally) can help draw out defences a bit and create more space for the striker(s).

I think Rodrigo can work well, but I'm not sure if he has the bottle for the big stage.

Having Ramos and Costa in the same team worries me a bit. Can't help feeling that sooner or later one of them is going to get sent off in a big game. They're going to be scrutinised very closely, and I'm pretty sure a ref wouldn't get too much heat for red-carding one of them. "Poetic justice" and all that.

Morata always looked best suited for Spain of the strikers they have. But you can understand why he’s not gone given how poor he’s been this season.

Just saw De Gea’s mistake from yesterday, very poor by him. I remember he made a few mistakes in the Euro’s as well.

What? Higuain is in the Argentina squad. Didn’t see De Gea’s mistake. He’s not as good for them as he is for us.
