I don't think last night's game was anywhere near as bad as Spiers was making out, and from his ratings I think he has been watching different games to me. He has given Boly 6 in both this week's games when he has been outstanding in both to me and to everyone I know. And very few of his other ratings would be in line with mine. All about opinions I guess, either that or he doesn't use specsavers

Last night proved the likes of edwards and batth have no future at the club and highlighted we need another cm to come in let alone a striker. Our midfield was poor.
Eno is gaining confidence with every game, we need to be patient with him. We all know Ronan is a class act but looks a little lightweight to me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
To be fair, Danny was more composed than normal & was trying to keep it on the deck - I did say trying by te way

Not wishing to be picky, but Edwards being subbed in a League Cup game doesn't bode well for him this season. Maybe a loan deal in January?

Thought the game was typically lackluster. Only bright performances were Ronan, Vinagre, Boly and Eno for me. Ronan and Vinagre were wasteful though, perhaps trying too hard and both looked very lightweight. The rest were all a bit meh.
Ronan is a bit lightweight at the moment, as is Jota, but I think their ability outweighs that. For Vinagre, as he has some defensive duties, I think being lightweight is more of an issue.
very good report in cincis post
in particular i liked the willy boly one
Willy Boly
A surprise inclusion but this game won’t have taken too much out of him. Completely in cruise control from start to finish, he could still be playing now without breaking sweat. He’s a far, far better footballer than I envisaged; dealing with a 60 yard hoof forward is one thing. Cushioning it down straight to a team mate is another. Strode forward a couple of times and one crunching challenge in particular sent the message of “don’t come within five yards of me”. Should have scored in the first half – free header, 10 yards out and sent wide – which would have given the game a different complexion.

There have been many talented players down the years that I would describe as lightweight, but very effective nevertheless.
I'm thinking Gus Poyet, Osvaldo Ardiles, Olé Gunnar Solskjaer, off the top of my head.
willie carr and alex rae too
Was impressed with how physical Jota was last week, suspect a red card will come his way this season.
