Class from Bairstow again, some unorthodox shots there especially down the ground, but cutting some beautiful ones, nice support from Root and Hales for the moment
14 balls bowled and off for rain. Solid 21/0 off those deliveries though so if the rain doesn't hang around for too long, this could be a high scoring affair.
In Ashes selection news, Hameed got hit on the hand earlier and had to leave the pitch, hopefully he's not broken his hand again but it doesn't look good.
Well Hameed came back out to back with his side 9 down and chasing a further 36 to win, unfortunately for him, Parkinson got out in the next over. Shame for Lancashire as if Hameed didn't get injured, him holding up an end probably would have been enough for them to win the game. Finn took 8 wickets in that innings which will mean the selectors will probably pick him.
was here earlier....passed across now...ruined my golf
Game washed out, must be bad as they had another hour and a half before the cut off for a 20 over game. Shame really as the pitch looked like one where Hales and Bairstow would have cashed in big time.
blame the weather all you want, but attempting to play cricket in england, in september, late september is bonkers..
The weather is unreliable all year round.
Been a long summer. Probably too much international cricket. We've had 7 tests, the icc tournament, this seems a series too many for me. Cricket not much fun late September. Going to get worse. Next summers test series v India starts in August. No test matches in July. Had that ever happened before?
and wouldn't you know it its pretty decent weather today, never understand why reserve days are not used for odi's

in principle yes....in practice I daresay there are loads of reasons why not
Windies win the toss and bowl. England team unchanged.
We've made a decent fist of this so far....Gayle will be dangerous later - if he's allowed
Gayle swiping at everything
Stokes and Hales to miss tomorrow's ODI due to Stokes being arrested for assault by the sounds of things following the 3rd ODI in Bristol. Hales is "helping with police enquiries" so sounds like he was around but not clear how much involvement he had.
Good start from Woakes removing Gayle and Hope in his first 2 overs.
Roy in for Hales as expected and I'm glad Ball came in for Willey. Would have preferred to see Curran get a run out in Stokes' place rather than Billings called up though.
A 3rd for Woakes, England fielding with 4 slips and a gully. You don't see that often in an ODI these days.
Well the West Indies have fought back very well although as I type that Rashid picks up a wicket.
England are going to be chasing a pretty daunting total on what you can only assume is a belter of a pitch. Looks like Lewis has inside edged the ball onto his heel and is having to go off injured. Big shame as he was motoring with 176 from 130 balls and looked good for a double century.
Will be a great set up for our innings now, what a great knock by Lewis
well that escalated quickly, come back after a hour and expecting a 270-280 total
Big ask for England, especially without Hales and Stokes.
It'll be a big test for England's firepower but Roy in for Hales and Billings in for Stokes are both very capable batsmen if they get going albeit out of form. Apparently there's rain due around half 7 but England can't bat on that basis and lose quick wickets as they still need to bat smartly to set up this chase.
Hopefully Roy can get us off to a flying start though.
