Rodgers had 10 more pts at same stage as Klopp whilst at Liverpool.

--------
Rodgers had Suarez and Gerrard and even had Carra for a while..

You thought we should have sold Coutinho without a replacement too..

Facking melon.

I'll also add that in your simplistic thinking you've forgotten to take stock of the fact that Spurs and Man City have gone up a level in competitiveness too.. a fact made clear by your own team finishing 6th last season.

If we are talking of getting rid of Klopp right now then we may as well fold the club.

It's done.

Nah, I'm fairly sure the club could survive without klopp

op....klopp is 2 full yrs into a job that may take him 4 yrs to conquer. Id say hes well on his way and another couple of transfer windows and we will be there

Problem is everyone wants is NOW!! It just doesnt happen like that when he has to change the team so much like he is having to do.

My biggest gripe with Klopp is not improving the defence and now changing the back line on average like 2 changes per game. There is no consistency and I believe is not helping the defensive situation.

posted on 17/9/17

Well if i was klopp id be changing the defence every game; its poor.

posted on 18/9/17

Hmm there are. Lot of chop and changes at the back and we really needed at the very least was an upgrade on Klavan

posted on 18/9/17

Gary Cahill is just as bad as Klavan but he has at times two DM infront of him and a world class keeper. We have neither. That's where the problem lies.

VVD wouldn't have dramatically turned us into a good defensive unit, it's too simplistic and naive to think one player will come in and we'll stop leaking goals.

The system we play isolates the defenders, most defenders in the world would look average in our back line tbh. I don't think there's anything wrong with Klopp himself not being able to fix that issue, the best managers are ones who know their limitations. What is a major mistake and very frustrating is him refusing to seek health and bring in a defensive coach specialist.

I'm kinda surprised at the fact we have a German manager, we all know how successful German national Teams and Club teams have always been successful in Europe or the international stage due to those teams being solid defensively. Down the middle and a number 1 goalkeeper, I'm somewhat surprised that our team is so weak in these areas. No number one keeper... No commanding centre half... No leader in the middle.....the spine of the team needs to be solid down the middle until this addressed we will continue to be very frustrating to watch......

And Arsenal and United went down a stock in the same period. Give and take. So despite that, Klopp hasn't done much better than Rodgers.

The club is going nowhere if we start sacking managers who are doing well 2 years into their reign.

That's not what Liverpool do.

If that's what the fans want Liverpool to become then Liverpool are finished.

Move it to China and call it Beijing Reds.

Another melon

Get balled up!

Arsenal and Man Utd did that in the face of far better competition from Spurs and Man City kicking up a level.

Rodgers had over 160 matches
Klopp has had 90 odd..

Absolutely no reason to panic.

Bit dramatic aren't you? No one mentioned sacking him, except for you.

The article seems to be more about acknowledging that he may be a decent manager but there are glaring weaknesses to his game.

I'm happy with Klopp in charge and think he has improved the first 11 and squad. But there are still issues with defence and I wish he'd stop changing the back 5 every game.

posted on 18/9/17

I like him and think he's doing a good job - in that he got us back in the CL.

But like a lot of others already, it frustrates me he didn't address the CB issue. It also frustrates me he keeps switching keepers, especially as Mignolet seemed to be finding some form.

We're not the same team at all, but it's hard to not draw similarities with the Rodgers team comments - great attacking, rubbish at defending.

Agree with earlier comments, he needs to deliver some silverware this season, otherwise I think the fact he hasn't fixed the defence will come back to haunt him and rightly so.

I don't think he needs to win something this season at all. It would be great if he could but I'd say this season is all about consolidating top 4 to show that, unlike 13/14, last year wasn't a one off.

Klopp has not addressed the spine of the team since he took over

A good commanding keeper, ball winning central defender, a defensive midfielder and an out and out striker were all required.

Would fans prefer a team playing exciting football but not winning trophies (Liverpool) or a team playing methodic football that wins trophies (Manchester United) ?

Exactly. It would be nice to win something, but if he doesn't? Are some of you saying he should be sacked? Utter madness. Who the fack is out there that would be better? I'll tell you right now, nobody. Top, top manager, we just have to accept that the football he want's to play is not focussed on defending. Let him do his thing and it will work. If we're still like this in 2 more years then maybe it's not working. He clearly wants to buy better defenders, but if the right guy isn't available I'm happy for him to not want to bring someone "wrong" in just for the sake of doing it. He'll sort it, I have faith. I have no interest in "plan B" players. That's how we ended up with Konchesky, Poulsen, Ruddock, Riera, Dic(c)ks, Speedie, Carroll etc.

73 league games later (over 3 different seasons) and you're still the same team. His passion and quirky character actually masks the pretty mediocre job he's done.

We're the same team as we were when Rodgers left?Just about sums you up as a poster.

You don't have great players or squad, and the club is not well run. FSG aren't football men.

Considering this, Klopp is doing OK. Your defence is poor (despite not conceding at Anfield since April.... in the league).

You play good football and will be top 6, possibly in the mix for top 4.

Easy CL group, so could have a cheeky run in Europe.

Moderate your expectations, City and United ££££ makes them out of reach
