Moderate your expectations, City and United ££££ makes them out of reach

most of what you said is accurate but this? if you can afford to reject a 130mill+ plus bid because you don't need to sell and then bid 70mill for players yourself then you cant moan use the we dnt have the finances excuse because its obvious they do

United revenue 700m euros, Liverpool 400m euros.

And that is without United having success for 4 years.

Gap will only get bigger when United start winning titles again, which will happen sooner or later.

I take exception to the fact we have had no success for 4 years, 3 trophies more than some of the other big 6 says otherwise, again my point wasent about revenue its the fact Liverpool were able to refuse 130mill(good on them) because they said they didn't need to sell, they have brought a player who's going to cost more than anything city have spent on 1 player and spent 35mill on a player with 1year left on his contract so again yes 5-6years ago the money could be used as a excuse it cant now

Transfers are only half the story.

United can offer the best wages

you know what is MOST worrying?

our record last year in top 6 mini table was 5-5-0 which was 20 points. The average form the rest was about 10.

If you then look at the bottom teams and who we did then see watford and burnely performances and you cannot think we are going to make up 10 points there.

So we are looking right now at about mid 60s might be a very good performance for this team.

That means no CL next year......

LFC are racing cheslea and spurs and arsenal as also rans to the manchester clubs already.

spurs look like wembley is hurting them so far, arsenal are trying to steady a wobbly ship. All of this must be joyous to cheslea who can try to keep on the coat tails of the mancs.

the question must be:

who of the top 6 are worse than LFC right now? arsenal? Spurs?

the answer is none of them.

Right now i'm looking towards last 16 of cl and an fa cup run. If we do that and get 6ths I think thats par. If we score a cup great. But I simply gdon't think this side can defend well enough to make the front 4 (assuming coutinho plays most of the season from here) count.

We have a very good front 4... once salah gets 4 chances he can get one. Mane has stepped up. Firmino like a run about free in the middle. Coutinho was great as no 8 last year... behind that we are bang average.

and the club is not well run...

------------------
Hows your stadium build going? FSG have refurbished half of Anfield already.

Guess how much borrowing from banks? Zero.. not well run my ass.

Regardless of the soend this summer, if Coutinho is worth someone paying £130m for, the same could be said for Mane, with Salah at least £60m and Firmino £55m

Plenty of assets in the squad on long term contracts with Naby Keita to come in, and i would suspect VVD in January.

That is an Arsenal-esque definition of well run.

For LFC 2017, read AFC 2007

Not really..

Arsenal would have sold their player at £130m.

Trying too hard CFC, especially when you have FFP in your screen name. daft

Why won't we make up 10 points? And that's assuming the other clubs equal or do better than last season which apart from the Manchester clubs, doesn't look likely at the moment.

Spurs have already dropped more points at home than the whole of last year, so unless they win all their remaining home games they'll likely be on less points.

Arsenal are like us in that they haven't fixed their key areas. Their defence is just as bad as ours and whilst they were improved yesterday, there are still issues when they play the top teams.

Our defence isn't good enough for a title challenge but it was good enough for top 4 last season and there's no reason why it shouldn't be again this year.

posted on 18/9/17

If he means sell coutinho in order to get VVD And Keita, coutinho won't go for anywhere near the amount being offered this window. That was as a result of the neymar transfer and with Barca desperate.

I also don't see us getting VVD and Keita is already done. So no.

I think we'll sell him next season if Barca come back in for him because we will owe him that. It has nothing to do with needing the money to pay for those two.

Expensive players + wages.

And Coutinho sale could pay back the £110m loan you owe John Henry & co for Main Stand.

Or you could rebuild Annie Road?

How sure would you be that your defensive problems would be sorted with signing VVD? I don't disagree that most of your defenders are pub standard, but it's also the style of play that always leaves them exposed.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Have you actually watched us play? We dont concede that many shots, our defenders do however make basic facking mistakes time and again, its the individual errors that screw us up all the time

Refs do there job properly then we'd be one point off top. Nothing to do with Klopp.

Firmino finishes his penalty we'd be top of the CL group. Nothing to do with Klopp.

People are stupid.
