How can holland be ahead of N Ire, who qualifies for the last tournament?

Netherlands qualified for the last World Cup though. Evens it out and swings it in the Netherlands favour.

Here is the current coefficient ranking table:

Get rid of the Carabao Cup and have the season from September to April. Why do we have 2 domestic cup competitions, no need.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Best to get knocked out of the league cup early. 3rd or 4th round at the latest.

I just can't stand these international breaks. The week goes so bloody slow without PL football. The time has come to have this international window at the end of the season. Season would finish sooner and get rid of the likes of San Marino, Malta etc pointless games and have your 6-7 meaningful matches and be done with it.

You start the international month with a friendly before playing the competitive games.

Fack off
Malta !
Why get rid of them!?

Ok, Uefa rankings rather than Fifa. never even realised they existed.

But still, your link has netherlands in League B at the moment

I think we should scrap everything that doesn’t directly involve United'

Yep. Just what is the point of other clubs?

Anyone?

Nope.

I thought so.

Russia cannot get any more points, so will most likely to fall into League B. Then there was also a little but of predictions on remaining games.

There are 2 ways to go here.
A) Totally revamp International football merely to suit the whims of our top 6 clubs
or
B) Reduce the number of matches our top 6 play to help International football

Route A would see the tail wagging the dog - International football is the pinnacle, the top of the pyramid so should take precedence.
Route B could see the other EPL teams suffer as any change would only suit the richest clubs and bu66er the rest.
Is there some middle ground here ? Getting the minnows to pre-qualify would certainly reduce the number of games and benefit everyone. Excluding the top 6 from the League cup would help and how about reducing the number of CL games (so many dead rubbers in group games) but that'll never happen as nobody wants to derail the gray train.

The worst is the first one, you finally get the club footy you've been deviod off all summer back and it's taken away again after 3 games.

This one isn't too bad for me, the novelty of the new fifa release get's me through it. The third one in November i don't get, it use to be every other year (for the play offs) now it happens every season, anyone know why that changed?

Like there always has been, but only since 2014 has the 3rd one been added in non Euro/world cup year.

They should just plain and simply scrap qualifiers, use the Nations League as a basis and then have the best 32 teams in the world competing against each other in the World Cup, the 24 best European teams in the Euro's and the rest in the other competitions like AFCON, Copa America etc.

The Nations League should be something that is used across all regions of the world really. Have a European, Asian, N. American etc. One for each continent of the world. Gives teams a better chance then of qualifying for competitions by moving up the leagues and rankings and have points assigned to them in each game they play.

A fixed amount of points for a win, draw and defeat. Depending on which team they beat then gives them bonus ranking points. For example, if one day Kosovo meet England and beat them (as likely as it is unlikely), then they get the fixed ranking points for winning and then the added bonus points should be half the difference of how many places there are between them in the ranking system. So if there is a ranking distance of 54, then Kosovo earn the fixed win points + 27 points for beating England. There should also be a fixed amount if you beat somebody lower than you in the rankings as well.

Done.

It's a shame people feel this way about international football. Is it just an English thing? It certainly wasn't always this way: I remember coming home from school excited to watch recorded coverage of England playing in Malaysia in a friendly.

Lower league clubs don't have international breaks though (well, most of them).

Generally speaking it's true that fans of smaller clubs are more bothered about England though. I reckon it's because they are (often) from smaller places, so don't have the same affinity to an area like big city fans do.

The smaller places are often seen as places to get out of, not places to aspire to get to, so while the support is there for the local team, the identity of 'scouse' or 'manc' or 'cockney' isn't the same, so identifying as 'English' becomes more important.

A lot of supporters from teams on the PL and Championship don't like it because they get players who travel halfway around the world and return 3 days before a game or even worse, they get injured.

For me, I prefer watching PL/Championship football to International level football personally. If there was a change in format though, then it might change.

Not sure there is much of a base to that claim?
Where I'm from there are loads of Gillingham and Charlton fans who don't care about England while I know people who go regularly to top flight teams and England games. The lower league fans seem to have more apathy towards England than most, tbh.
I know a couple of United fans who follow England abroad as well.
