I wouldn't have a clue what the young are listening to now and tbh nor should I, my times been now it's theirs. I'm alright with only hearing their big floor-fillers on the radio every now and then.

My son likes to listen to a local radio station (bit like Radio one insofar as audience is concerned). Had it on during a recent drive up the North Coast and hadn't heard of any their playlists.

Whoopee Dee featuring Boogity blah blah blah etc

Just saw this regarding Afghanistan.

Not only has the US capitulated to the Taliban, they've also (inadvertently) provided them with hundreds of millions worth of US military equipment, (aircraft, weapons, ammunition etc).

The number of American political figures who have links to arms contracts is shocking.

In the seventies the West (or America) backed Islamists in Afghanistan against the USSR, as they have in other conflict zones of interest to American foreign policy, arms dealing and oil.

So the West help Islamist militants when it suits, create a monster, then run away.

Worryingly too is a poll by Pew Research revealing Afghan people favour sharia law at 99%, support stoning for adultery at 89% and execution for apostasy at 79%, so the Taliban swim in friendly or like minded waters.

The real fear for me is price hikes for food (supply and demand) which price some people out of healthier varied options even more than they are already.

Prices had already been spiking because the hauliers from Europe were preferring not to take anything back so they could avoid border controls at Dover.

Now the industry is going to have to hike it's wages significantly to attract workers, and that's going to cost consumers and affect inflation

What are the latest stats?

No idea Sat Nav, but I would treat stats based on a survey of opinions collected 9 years ago and published 8 years ago with a large pinch of salt.

Morning, you rascal.😊

Would you agree there is support for Islamist ideology among many or a majority of Afghans?

It may not be as high as that poll suggested, but the reality across the world today, from Kabul to Pakistan, from Iran to saudi arabia and from Libya to Somalia, from Turkey to Egypt shows Islamists in govt, trying to take over or influence society to go under Islamist fundamentalism.

A poll 8 or 9 years ago is relevant on how Afghan people feel too, btw.

Would you dismiss an 8 year old poll on Brexit, Scots Indy or Irish border poll so easily, mucker?😉

Things do not change that much over a few years.
