Went shopping twice last week (Waitrose & Lidl)
Been twice this week (Lidl & Tesco)
Got everything we wanted with no problem, didn't see any empty shelves.
Remainers over-egging this particular pudding again?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's not "remainers" that have been highlighting the problem but industry bodies, retailers, businesses etc etc.
I recall posting on here over a year ago when the logistics industry were at pains to point out that the goverment's post Brexit trading and immigration arrangements would result in supply chain breakdowns.
The government knew, (by way of various impact assessments) this would happen but did nothing to address it.

No idea Sat Nav, but I would treat stats based on a survey of opinions collected 9 years ago and published 8 years ago with a large pinch of salt.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Would you dismiss an 8 year old poll on Brexit, Scots Indy or Irish border poll so easily, mucker?😉
Things do not change that much over a few years.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Your general point might be valid, but Brexit is a terrible, terrible example, tbab.

I see your personal experience and raise it with mine were I've seen signs in both Coop and Sainburys apologising for not having certain lines due to supply issues.
Waitrose has a lot of things cheaper than Tesco etc, you would be surprised Crouchy.
Not denying that there is a problem and the government need to sort it out, which I'm sure they will in due course
Don't forget we are only 8 months in to what will hopefully be an infinite amount of time outside the EU.
There’s still an acute failure amongst the general populations in the West to understand the difference between Sharia and Sharia Law.
Support for Sharia does not equal support for Sharia Law, and there are multiple ways in which Sharia Law can be implemented beyond the many different interpretations of Sharia.
Supposing that x% of Afghans supporting Sharia equals the same percentage supporting the Taliban’s interpretation of Sharia and its implementation in law is akin to supposing that x% of Americans supporting a liberal social contract equals the same percentage supporting the Republicans’ current vision for the balance between individual freedoms and social responsibility.
In fairness about a month a go I went to Co-OP to get a loaf of bread and they didn't have our usual one, had to get a different brand. Distressing.
^ Sorry; I am about 12 hours behind everyone else at the moment
Nothing worse than going for Warburtons and having to take Kingsmill.

It's actually about to get worse, with more border checks due in September
(Don't worry Boris will just delay it a bit longer then sod off and leave it to someone else to fix)

As the government has rejected industry wide pleas for a relaxation of post brexit immigration rules, as I see it the only solution is for UK nationals to take up the jobs.
Which is more of a long term remedy, and does not address the short to medium term issues.
That said I saw a piece on BBC news the other week which highlighted despite higher salaries being offered to UK nationals, uptake was nominal and in some instances nil.
Higher wages will inevitably result in considerably higher food prices for consumers in the long term.
Can’t say I’ve noticed a huge or even notable problem with food in supermarkets at all.
Other than inept stocking from some shops or covid panic last year

this, I've not noticed any shortage of any product.
I do shop at Sainsbury's though
I've seen quite a bit at M+S, Morrisons and Tesco's. Never an issue at Waitrose.
I was very annoyed when I couldn't get my Tuscan penne pasta at M+S last week. VERY ANNOYED!!
I had to choose something else and to be honest it threw my whole week out. I'm still reeling now, hopefully it will be there today.

Sharia is sharia law. In fact the phrase sharia law is daft as law is implied in the word sharia
Islamic canonical law based on the teachings of the Koran and the traditions of the Prophet (Hadith and Sunna), prescribing both religious and secular duties and sometimes retributive penalties for lawbreaking.
So Rosso is right, there is an acute lack of understanding 😂😂😂

For ready meal standards is quite impressive I have to say. M&S in general for prepared quick food is miles better than other brands
I've got to say though, that looking solely at the lorry driver situation is incredibly short sighted.
There is a bigger issue going largely unreported in that produce is rotting in farmers fields right now, unharvested, dairy cows aren't being milked (and will probably be shot as a consequence) hay/straw isn't being baled and it's going to have a massive knock on to animal agriculture industries.
I think it's 1 in 5 agriculture positions currently unfulfilled, it's a major issue, and whilst I acknowledge that we will just buy the produce elsewhere and ship it here, it leaves others without food, in famine, it increases food miles, reduces quality and undermines animal health standards.
It's a house of cards close to collapse.
