Free contraception for all is a great idea IMO. Would help address a host of issues across the world. Especially in developing countries.

I thought one of the issues in developing countries is that they didn't want to use contraception, not the availability/price.

I guess there will always be those who chose not to use contraception but making it free for all would help address spread of HIV, and STDs etc, as well.

Funnily enough, many developing countries, including some of the poorest on the planet, offer women (and girls) free or very heavily subsidised birth control.

Strange that the US (and several other developed nations) don’t seem to be able to afford to do so.

The pill is free or heavily subsidised in:

- Most of South America (not Brazil, Colombia, Chile or the Guyana)
- 19 African countries
- Russia, India, China (completely free in each of those), and nearly all of the rest of Asia (including Iran and Pakistan, and notably excluding some ‘stans and Japan).

But not in the US
