As someone who is about to marry a non-UK (and non-EU) citizen, the change in law that means they can revoke citizenship with no warning whatsoever is very unsettling.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why are you marrying a terrorist?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Does the law change have mechanisms by which they have to prove to a judge that they believe the person is a terrorist?
Oh no, that would be the old set wouldn't it 🤔
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The idea that the govt will just randomly de-citizenise people without serious reason is bizarre.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So why do they need a mechanism to do it?
This government under Boris wouldn't do it but another government MIGHT.
Why do we want the state to have that power whether they use it or not

Just completed on my house, so I have now officially moved to Somerset.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Mine has taken waaaay too long, and I got married on Friday too.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Congratulations.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah. Congratulations. I guess my invitation was lost in the post. So did my cheque. I suppose.
You still got that flat? If so JS might be looking to rent.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Could you imagine the Live Election Thread lot turning up to a wedding?
I imagine we wouldn't get through the ceremony without NPE trying to fight someone or Arab calling one of the family members a nonce.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's Arabs wedding..
I bet NPE would be a lot less arrogant and rude in person.
Well done Tam, enjoy your new home!
NPE is 6'5". And a bit hefty. I'll take a by.
And congratulations Arab, I hope you both had a great day. A special moment to cherish forever. Now just get that flat finished
