Sane response to Ukraine conflict: We should sanction Russia, rearm and reinvest our military and defence and push towards energy independence with a combo of vast renewable expansion and maximising domestic fossil fuels.
Insane response: Let's enter a hot war with a nuclear power by threatening Russia with boots on the ground.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a weird take on things. Can’t recall seeing any on here saying boots on the ground from U.K. troops.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Robb suggested war with Russia yesterday.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
BMCL, said peacekeepers today. Fields showing his reading to be what we all knew.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So when BMCL said peacekeepers he meant a hot war with a nuclear power as suggested by NPE.
Just Shoot showing his intelligence, or lack of, for what we all know it to be

There is a debate to be had whether Russian money infiltrated the Brexit campaign and helped to divide Europe in readiness for something like today.
(And no, that’s it an anti right wing thing as I’m sure plenty of people on the right didn’t want Brexit).
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't think there is that much of a debate. Russian money is supporting anything that causes division in the West. They were organising BLM marches and whatever the counter thing was on the same days, through fake Facebook accounts.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Morning all. Depressing stuff from Ukraine.
In regard to Russian influence (Brexit) it's well known Russian active measures have been used all across western democracies.
In the US, the Senate foreign relations committee found that Russian money had been directed "with insufficient scrutiny to various UK political actors”
“Investigative journalists have also raised questions about the sources of sudden and possibly illicit wealth that may have been directed to support the Brexit ‘Leave’ campaign.”
The committee were also critical of Farage (page 117) and UKip in "fanning anti-EU sentiment, criticism of the European sanctions on Russia, and flattering assessments of Russian President Putin as well as far left wing views as conducive to alignment with Russia’s anti-EU and NATO-skeptic positions."
https://www.foreign.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/FinalRR.pdf

The book “democracy for sale” goes into a lot of it in fairly painstaking detail and I imagine was part of the reference to “investigative journalists” above.
