Boris landing in Saudi days Ukraine will not be joining Nato anytime soon.
An American outfit polled NATO Membership among Ukrainians, and joining was not popular, but Zelensky and Boris were popular in the same polling, apparently.

Ukraine joining NATO ‘anytime soon’ has never been on the cards.
It hasn’t been at any point since the Berlin Wall came down, wasn’t before the invasion, and won’t be when the Russians pack up and leave.

Why do you or others think that Ukraine should not be in NATO or why they are not doing planning to or welcome.., as they seek to join the EU and Brussels seem to be ok with that going forward?
Does non NATO membership highlight the situation in Ukraine is more nuanced and complex than some think?

Tatchell did highlight that the left in general do not back the Stop the War Corbyn analysis.

France, Germany, UK and US have all at different points cast doubt on Ukraine joining or talked about a long road to accession.
Firstly, they don’t meet the accession criteria, and wouldn’t have done so for another decade or so, at least.
Secondly, I think the major powers were probably worried (to put it lightly) about what has just happened happening, and being obliged to intervene to defend Ukraine. Even if Putin negotiates, settling for the annexation of a land bridge between Crimea and Donbas, and the Donbas region, he won’t be done in the medium to long term with Ukraine. If a deal ceding some territory were to be signed, it’d be a nothing more than a temporary reprieve for Kiev whilst Putin remains in power.
As to EU membership, as John Simpson and others have pointed out in recent days, I think the EU, US and UK need to recognise that Putin is close to as concerned about EU membership for Ukraine as NATO membership.
He didn’t want to see the democratisation of Ukraine, and EU membership would help cement that. He doesn’t want to see a wealthier Ukraine than Russia, and EU membership would help cement and accelerate that. He didn’t want to see a free, liberal Ukraine… You get the picture. This hasn’t been about territory, ‘denazification’, or NATO for Putin; it has been about protecting his power and his wealth, and a free, open, liberal, wealthy Ukraine is a very significant and direct threat to that.
I think whatever might have been said in Brussels the last few days, there will be quiet conversations going on between the major powers about the (very real) dangers of fast-tracking Ukrainian membership.
