I can picture you both now boooojg along to the libertines
I would have loved Frightened Rabbit and Biffy Clyro. Great bands. Biffy still going strong and getting better in my opinion.
I saw Goldie Lookin Chain at Reading Festival once. Great fun.
I went to see Pendulum at Uni too, but got so drunk I couldn't remember the gig. I was in photos though, so I was definitely there when they were on stage.
My main memory of that gig is waking up the next morning facing the wall in my bed and letting out a huge rasping fart. Then rolling over and there being a girl I had no recollection of lying there looking mortified.
Has anyone stopped listening to a band music because of their politics? I’ve always been a huge Pantera fan but can’t abide Down now because of Phil Anselmo’s mental right wing views

I mean my musical tastes these days are Springsteen and Paul Simon, so I’m fairly safe with them from a politics perspective.
When I was younger I can’t think I knew much about the politics of artists that I like. Maybe Manu Chao who was quite political, but that wasn’t what drew me to his music.

Iggy Pop and Johnny Ramone. Both traitors to the punk rock philosophy.
Didn’t know that about Phil Anselmo. I’ll have to look up Dimebag now, because I played at a tribute concert for him once

Couple things;
So there was recently a change in the rules about new business versus renewal quotes which, broadly, should be that you should get the same price as a renewing customer that a new business customer gets.
Despite this it still very much pays to shop around, as it often comes down to insurers own internal data which can vary massively depending on the client base they have and the experience of that client base. As an example, I was able to get a quote from a different company for less than half of what I was quoted at renewal with my existing company at the time (despite the NB price = renewal price I mentioned above).
The quote you get can vary quite a bit depending on how far in advance of your renewal date you start shopping around. I think the best time to ring round for a quote from other insurers is 21 days or so before your renewal date. Get those quotes, on like for like basis, and if your current insurer can’t match then just move.
It can sometimes be a slight faff getting things like proof of no claims, but when you phone to stop the renewal (if you do move) you can request proof of it then.
Manged to find £600 for a company called ByMile, not too shabby
my car insurance is usually £250-300/yr
20 years no claims

π aye there’s such a broad spread of premiums across different insurers. Can I ask, is your car a “common” car, or quite rare? That can impact the variability. A “look after my bills” for insurance that moved you automatically to the cheapest option is something I’d like to see trialled as the current system can mean that those who have time to shop around get a much much better deal than those who don’t.

I still enjoy listening to The Smiths, but Morrissey is a massive bell.
Anselmo has always been a massive racist hasn't he? Still love the old Pantera stuff.
I don't think you can stop listening to music because one person in the band has objectionable views, your list of bands would pretty quickly shrink down to near nothing.
