Morning soq.
I see at 9 tonight on Channel 5 there's a programme called Tyrant. The Rise of Adolf Hitler.
Today's episode 1 concentrates on the annexation of Austria in the late 30's which set in motion the events that led to WW2.
Somebody needs to ensure that Lineker gives it a watch.

Why?
For years on this page certain people have claimed that there has been a growing imbalance in the reporting by the bbc of the uk government. These people pointed to the appointment of conservative donors or indeed party members to key roles in the bbc, to the loss of key personnel from the newsroom, to the measurable difference in reporting versus other news organisations. They are being proven right.

Didn't even need to click to know what that was. Excruciating
To be fair, I don't know why these people struggle. Though I disagree with them, it's not that hard to answer this question and explain why you think "woke" is an issue, even while adhering to the definition and trying not to come across like an awful person.
Their stock answer should be ‘woke is when people want me to not be a caaant to people who you shouldn’t be caaaants to’
My Twitter feed is full of GB news clips of them still obsessed with the Lineker story dragging out all manner of sinister and long forgotten (Mark Lawrenson 😅) people to cling on to this dream that they can finally cancel someone.

They should just say something like: "Woke is when people claim to be pursuing social justice but it's more about appearing to do the right thing than actually believing the thing itself is important."
Like I say, I don't agree with this but the idea that "you just have to ask people what woke means and watch them squirm" shouldn't really be as powerful as that woman just made it look

The responses to Dr Science, Esq’s equally dumbfounding attempt to define wokery on the same thread are absolutely amazing
I reckon there’s a (probably quite hilarious) compendium that could be compiled on alt-right individuals’ attempts to define wokery on social media and in TV interviews.
Where’s Oscar when we need him? Come on Oscy, let’s have your definition of ‘woke’!

* Free childcare for 1 & 2s - £4bn
* Multi-billion business tax breaks - £7bn
* £2,500 energy price guarantee extended for 3 months - 3bn
* Fuel duty frozen & 5p cut extended - £6bn
* Pensions allowance up to £1.8m
* Defence spending up by £5bn

I've been reading this morning about the libertarian town that Musk is trying to set up in Texas.
And that of course has led to me reading about the free town project in New Hampshire.
Where a load of libertarians descended on one town and utterly destroyed it, leaving it at the mercy of bears
What a bizarre story

Sovereign individuals wet dream enables societal collapse, I'm shocked! Communities evolved to survive over 1000's of years but the fanatical, anti-democratic extremist wealthy think their genius alone is the next stage of human evolution.

What’s the point of Hunt standing up and waffling about the budget when it was already leaked to the journalists a few hours before?
