On the whole MOTD thing, the way it's been dealt with by the Beeb is very very similar to how the Tories have dealt with so many problems lately and lurched from one disaster to another. Just basically dismissing any view that goes against their own and behaved with a total disregard for what the consequences of their actions would be.
Such a total lack of foresight and arrogance to not expect the response that came to standing Lineker down and not having any idea on what to do about it. It's shambolic. Again, a word that best encapsulates every response the actions of the Tories to problems they've created.

Politics aside this is an HR matter. He’s broken company impartiality rules multiple times and finally been called out on it.
Will protect be sacked.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If you read the editorial guidelines, it actually uses an example of a sports presenter (which is what Lineker is) using social media to make a political point (which is what lineker did) is a “low risk” activity in this context. Given this was the specific anecdotal example used, I’d say he hasn’t “broken company impartiality rules multiple times” unless of course you have had sight of the company rules you refer to and can share them?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He’s been warned at least once, why would they warn him if he hadn’t breached any rules.

So…. no sight of the rules you suggest he’s breached multiple times. Cool cool cool cool cool. Enjoy your Sunday!

I watched about 10 minutes of GBN after the shortened MOTD last night.
They were suggesting that the whole benefit system should be scrapped and highlighted how much it would save the economy.
They also said that people who have Council Tax arrears should be beaten up by thugs and would be then invoiced for the services of said thugs.
GB News has now just become a parody of itself but unfortunately the Thick of Head will lap it up.

never watched it, doesn't seem like I'm missing much though
It's feking dreadful, I watch the occasional few minutes just to confirm that fact and I'm rarely disappointed.
Neil Oliver of 'Coast' fame is one of the main presenters, I notice the BBC haven't cancelled him.
Obviously GB News is disliked on here because it has an anti woke agenda.
However like all news channels it depends when you watch it. For example their breakfast show has some excellent paper reviewers (Liz Kershaw is always worth a listen) and has an old school Sky feel about it. Give me that over dead behind the eyes Covid rule dodger Kay Burley hosting one of her Northern lefty ladies coffee mornings with Rayner or Nandy.
I also like the Michelle Dewberry show between 6 and 7pm which always pits 2 political experts with completely different views against each other to dicuss the days talking points.
That's when I stop watching as from Farage onwards the later day shows are a load of trashy right wing commentators and their mates giving any lefty guests a torrid time in a borderline bullying fashion.
GB News is a safe haven for Covid-19 conspiracy theorists and misinformation.
Why anyone irrespective of political persuasion, would give it the time of day is beyond me.

There was a caller on James O’Brien who called himself “culturist” which he described as not racist but then went on a rant on how he wouldn’t want to have Muslim neighbours.

I dislike partizan agenda news channels per se, same as Fox News and CNN.
Bit harsh to lump CNN in with Fox but I'm only really familiar with the international version which a bit like the BBC World Service/News output has a lot more integrity

I don't think many on here are particularly 'woke', I'm certainly not.
Having, or trying to have a decent outlook on humanity doesn't make you a wokey, Left Wing nutter.

Racist.
