Government says 4 day working weeks should cease immediately as they don't provide value for money.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cambridgeshire-67232583

'Leader of South Cambridgeshire District Council, Bridget Smith, said the initial trial "saw performance generally maintained, and in some cases improved - with not a single area falling to a concerning level".

She said "strong evidence" suggested the new work pattern helped "fill hard to recruit posts", saving money by avoiding paying high numbers of agency staff.

"Since January, our sickness rates have fallen by a third, staff turnover has reduced by 36%, and complaints about services are down," she added.'

As most know I work in employment and four day weeks are a great idea. Pretty much every bit of data and analysis I've seen says it is beneficial to just about everyone.

I'd quite happily work four 10 hour days too, I wouldn't even want to decrease the actual work time.

100% I'd work longer hours for 4 days to get 3 off.

During November and December I always try and save around 7 days AL so I can go to four day weeks leading up to Christmas and it's luuuuuuush.

Doesn't make the slightest bit of difference to my desk really either. Have to take the odd call but I'd be doing that anyway.

My work introduced meeting free Fridays so we could focus on work. They blocked out my Friday afternoons. I generally do nothing in this period now, so they may as well give me Friday afternoons off. Just put a movie on or something and just monitor for if I get a call.

Had a chance a couple of years ago to take a lump sum and pension package but bottled it, could have made the same cash with a part time couple of days a week job, should have taken it, big regret when I see my mates who did

I don't want to retire (bad living making it unlikely anyways) slow down, get a less physical job, but I need the structure of working.

"Despite the pain ... I felt it was my duty to get back in front of the camera."

Al Jazeera Journalist Wael Al Dahdouh explains why he continues to report from Gaza after his wife, son, daughter and other relatives were killed.

They bombed hospitals so they couldn't recover

Now they're bombing journalists and their families to maintain silence.

Also working is for losers if you don’t have to

In the future people won't have or need jobs. Everyone will live on the beach or in the pub. Only work will be withdrawing your credits from the international welfare. Better to start getting rid of jobs early to help deal with the shock.
