Anwar El Ghazi is to have his contract terminated at Mainz for a pro-Palestine post on Instagram.

I'm told former #EFC and #AVFC winger was asked to apologise for the post but told senior executives he stands for peace and humanity for all victims of the war.

What a disgusting planet we live on.

It was fine for the whole football world to stand by Ukraine, and rightly so, but when an Arab country is facing attacks every single day by an occupier we can’t wave a flag for them.

They didn’t for Israel either after 7 October. I know you don’t care about those innocent people but most normal humans do.

Sorry did Ukrainians invade Russia and murder innocent unarmed civilians in their homes? Including women & children and then take hostages whom are still held hostage weeks later?

No, they didn’t. But thanks for playing false-equivalency

I don't remember anything being done by the football for conflicts in Yemen, Sudan, Syria

The invasion of Ukraine was amplified because it's a land war in Europe which we haven't seen since 97 and an invasion the type we haven't seen since Normandy. We also had a PM who used the conflict to cling into power.

I think the current conflict in Gaza is too political for the football authorities without doing a wishy washy "thoughts and prayers to all sides" which is just a platitude

I don't know about that but most of what he writes is backed up by nothing more than him being extremely arrogant and conceited.

He's made an absolute fool of himself most days.

I genuinely don’t understand why anyone takes a side in this conflict unless they have suffered at first hand.

As far as I’m aware; nobody on here can possibly have a clue what that kind of life is like for the occupants of those lands.

I’ve visited Israel after having worked in the Middle East and heard both sides from various people at different times, and from the very little I know, I believe I would never feel safe or at peace whichever side of the border I was in.

It’s perpetual warfare and has been for many many years.

From you moving them when you brought up Russia.

Let me explain it to you, really simply so that you can follow:

Russia invaded Ukraine, Ukraine didn’t kill hundreds of unarmed Russian civilians.

Hamas killed hundreds of innocent Israeli civilians that morning.

Now if sport didn’t get involved when that happened then they shouldn’t now.

Also I don’t remember the Ukrainians ever doing a thing to Russia.

Israel - Palestine we’ve seen wars over that land for millennia. Back and forth, you started, no you, you did this you did that.

Russia Ukraine is objectively one-sided. Robbing therefore thinks that Israel Palestine is one-sides also, which is fine, he’s entitled to his opinion but it’s complete ignorance.

It's weird that we both have something in common really. We both like putting things in other people mouths, it's just that you do it with words.
