UPDATE: Senior Labour MP Andy McDonald has now been suspended over the ‘river to the sea’ speech
The decision comes after fast-paced internal discussions on Monday afternoon
I spend a lot of time in Cyprus, the first lot were definately soldiers.
Lots of locals say the police bowed to political pressure from Israel (or bribes) thay also said the first girl was actually found battered and bruised in a ditch, not a hotel room like the defence claimed.

Andy McDonald has been suspended as a Labour MP, after the party said he had made "deeply offensive" comments relating to the Israel-Gaza war.
The MP for Middlesbrough used the phrase "between the river and the sea" in a speech at a pro-Palestine rally.

You can't tar everyone with the same brush, and I'm sure there are decent people in the IDF.
I met a bunch of Israeli soliders in the Philippines once though and they were absolute ****s. Went round causing grief as if they had superiority over everyone they encountered. Then when I stood up to one of them and took the pi55 back, he started making hand signal communications to the rest of them in the bar like he was doing some kind of military manouevre. Ended up with his mates 'holding him back' and then carrying him off down the beach as he literally screamed retribution to the moon at the top of his lungs the whole way.

"With Andy McDonald when he spoke on demo. These are his words exactly "We won"t rest until we have justice, until all people, Israelis and Palestinians, between the river and the sea can live in peaceful liberty." He turned a slogan some are concerned about into a peace plea".
Is calling for peace really worthy of suspension?

As I was saying a few days ago the whole ‘river to the sea’ thing isn’t what some people on the right will have you think. It’s a call for freedom for a people suffering from apartheid.
Labour are now ultra sensitive after their issues with ‘antisemitism’ over the years so are now being very unfair in suspending him. So stupid but when it comes to Israel their propaganda is so strong it’s impossible for sense to be seen.
I actually googled By The Rivers Of Babylon the other week to see if there was a connection (there isn't) but the story behind the song is very interesting

Been to the Phills a couple of times, got terrible food poisoning on the way back from El Nido to PP. I was confined to my room for 4 days with a mad fever at the same time as David Bowie died. Heard the news on BBC WS, I just assumed I was imagining it.

UPDATE: Senior Labour MP Andy McDonald has now been suspended over the ‘river to the sea’ speech
The decision comes after fast-paced internal discussions on Monday afternoon
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fair enough
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't think it is.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s an offensive chant to some people. At a time like this politicians really cannot go against the party line.

Oh wait sorry. Just read your post properly 🤣
I see what you mean tbh

Palawan, the Last Frontier.
Did you go to El Nido?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah it wasn't down south. I didn't go down there.
It was in Port Barton iirc. Yes went to El Nido.
Also been to Cebu and various other places.
Haven't been for years. Would love to go back some day, but not on the cards at the moment.

Been to the Phills a couple of times, got terrible food poisoning on the way back from El Nido to PP. I was confined to my room for 4 days with a mad fever at the same time as David Bowie died. Heard the news on BBC WS, I just assumed I was imagining it.
Great country, great people.
