Just found out that one of my colleagues and a good friend of mine has been killed in Gaza after a house she was sheltering in was bombed by the IDF.

There's gonna be a lot of weeping and wailing. Many people still don't know she's gone. She was a Muslim. Her husband had decided not to marry any more wives and to just stay with her.

May election in the way? Told last night Tory party been instructed to be ready for a election from Jan 1st, with Issac Levido (Sunak campaign chief) joining CCHQ on that date full time. Also told by another senior figure approach is prepare for Nov be ready for May

NI cuts open door to May election -BUT only as option. Rests on polls and whether AS can dramatically change fortunes

Energy price cap increasing by roughly £8 a month to already wipe out a fair chunk of the NI "savings".

745,000 is the revised 2022 figure. Past 12 months is 672,000.

Vast majority arriving to UK are from outside the EU
As we reported earlier, in the 12 months to 2023, immigration to the UK June 2023 was 1.2m (net migration is immigration minus emigration).

The ONS data shows the vast majority of arrivals were from countries outside of the European Union - 968,000.

Not her family but I've met her husband on a few occasions. Me and her worked in the same department up to around 2018. Some of her family is on social media though.
