A bit weird, what makes you think the Sheikh doesn’t like football?

His attendance figures when you’ve played under his ownership over the last 15 years

The alternative is the guy who owns GB News, no wonder the Tories will try and block it.
Hunt will abolish class 2 national insurance, paid by the self-employed. This will save them £192 per year.
Self-employed also pay class 4 national insurance at 9%. That will go down to 8%. About £350 of savings for SE a year.
These are real minuscule figures
Hunt announces a "programme" requiring those unable to find a job for 18 months to engage in a "mandatory work placement". If they refuse, Hunt says "we will close their case and stop their benefits".
Expecting Keith to scrap this measure next year.
I don't see the point in saving everyone circa £200 a year when it'll inevitably have a knock on effect on services making them even worse.
I'd rather pay the extra £15 a month

Its based on the usual ignorant assumption that most unemployed don't want to work and all they need is a little kick up the arrse to do so.
If someone is long term sick/disability, taking away their assistance to get healthy is far more likely to be a barrier to get them back working than an incentive

Interesting question but I don't know tbh, probably because it makes little difference to the point in question.
Reeves has obliterated this budget, we all know what it is. A last ditch attempt to buy a few votes. And the fact this NI cut is coming in January is making me think there’s an election next spring.
Inflation and interest rates will remain higher for longer, OBR suggests
Unemployment will rise to 1.6m in Q2 2025
Living standards will be 3.5% lower in 2024-25 than they were pre pandemic
BREXIT FOOOKING BRITAIN
Breaking:
The tax burden is still on course to reach a post war high of 37.7% in 2028-29 even after the 2% cut in national insurance
The OBR says that this is driven by fiscal drag, which will see 4m additional workers paying income tax and 3m moving to higher rate
BREXIT FOOOOKING BRITAIN
13 years, everybody is worse off and they think a tax cut that wouldn't even buy a packet of B+H Gold is going to sway the undecided back into their fold
Striking chart from the latest OBR forecast. The UK's trade intensity – trade as a percentage of GDP – is the lowest among G7 economies.
OBR: "We continue to expect that exiting the EU will reduce the UK’s trade intensity (exports plus imports as a share of GDP) by 15 per cent in the long term"

If they’re off long-term sick or have a medical disability then they won’t lose their benefits.
Pretending that proposals such as these are aimed at taking away benefits from those that need them is just wrong. It’s not like there isn’t a large amount of money going to people who can work.
