Nice bit of confirmation bias for dinner.
The government has by tabling an amendment to the SNP’s motion created the serious problem for Starmer to which I alluded in my earlier tweet. It means Labour’s motion is highly unlikely to be put to a vote. That in turn means very significant numbers of Labour MPs will want to vote for the SNP motion. BUT I am told Starmer is implacably opposed to that motion, because it states that Israel is engaged in the “collective punishment of the Palestinian people”. Tonight Starmer faces the risk of a very serious rebellion against his authority.

We've got an army of just about 70,000, the Navy not much better & missiles that don't work. If a foreign agent pops over and deploys chemical weapons its OK our gov will tell you how cross they are without doing much else about it. We'll employ the natives to translate on the promise of safety then renege on that promise.
But the government will still bang on about how we're still a big player on the world stage when really we're a bit of a laughing stock.
Oh and two shiny massive aircraft carriers, one of which is always unseaworthy and in need of repair.

Should probably ask for our money back from the manufacturer given it costs £17m a pop and that's twice in a row they've failed to launch correctly.
Sleepy Sunak not backing up his business secretary for calling a whistleblower a "liar" and he's too weak and timid to give her the boot.

Yeah but knowing the Tories they'll extend the contract and offer more money if they promise to eventually get it right. See Fujitsu as an example.

So a ceasefire in Gaza is of no benefit to anyone?
I’m sure the citizens of Gaza and the Israeli hostages wholeheartedly agree

Badenoch is seen as one of the future stars of the party so he probably doesn't want to go too hard on her.
Although the fact someone like her is seen as is future is funny in itself.
BREAKING: Speaker selects the govt AND Labour amendments on SNP ceasefire motion. Will come as massive relief to Starmer. Told by sources that it would have been a 'huge' problem if not called, with one figure telling me rebellion would have been bigger than the 56 last time

I feel sorry for those who have been conscripted but I have little empathy for those willingly joining and invading another country.
If the Tories did the same would you consider it wiley too? This is dirty politics playing on the lives of innocent children, Labour's amendment is word for word the same as the SNP.
The only difference is they don't want to accuse Israel of taking their anger out on the Palestinians, whereas the SNP says they are. How pathetic, what the fack does 30k deaths entail then?
I'm surprised Hoyle didn't tell them where to go if that story is true, turns out he's a self serving politician as well.
