Had the timelines been reversed with the Israel Gaza war kicking off 2 years ago and Ukraine more recently, I suspect in the UK much more focus would be being directed at Ukraine.

The question was around why Gaza has taken precedence in the UK over Ukraine. The initial response to Ukraine was huge, in media, on the streets, on football pitches etc etc. but time moves on and people, to put it coldly, get bored and lose interest.

It has happened during previous Israeli incursions into Gaza and West Bank. The wider discussion on the value and effectiveness of protest is one oft discussed and the impact can vary from issue to issue.

Israel and Russia don't necessary have to change and we have little impact on them. What we can change is our own foreign policy and how we handle other nations. I'm sure politicians are always closely watching the mood of the people. If they think enough people are against war they will start campaigning on an anti war platform to get in power.
