Prime minister Boris Johnson says he expects the UK will "feel the effects" of the third wave of coronavirus currently under way in Europe

Interesting thread amongst the noise regarding EU approach to vaccine rollout. Helps to contextualise why we may be getting to a more difficult stage with vaccines due to go to UK from EU.

Sadiq Khan would be elected on the first round in this scenario (never happened before!)
But here's the 2nd preferences anyway...
Khan (LAB): 66% (+9)
Bailey (CON): 34% (-9)
Changes w/ 2016 Election.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So roughly half of likely Lib Dem first preference voters would prefer Bailey to Khan?

With over half the adult population jabbed up we should be in a favourable position, just hope all the rioters and ubelievers get it first.
Embarrassing honestly don’t understand how he has so much support considering what a failure he’s been, is it really as simple as it’s because the majority of London is Labour and he’s Labour?
Must admit I’m getting so fed up of seeing used masks on the floor everywhere, dread to think how many are in landfills and oceans

Probably because the other candidate is a working class hater and a cretin to boot.

I don't think the conservatives could have picked a worse candidate tbh. Even the Tory cultists will vote for Khan before him.

He reminds me so much of why I despise modern conservatism. Imagine supporting an ideology that breeds these type of iiinbreds.

Absolutely, Bailey’s a moron I’d rather have Laurence Fox than that nob both nobs though
But I just don’t see how Sadik is so popular, I mean Christ he’s approval rating last year was only 32%
Weird how in elections the options always seem to be so $hit

Why did Boris Johnson get an 80 seat majority despite being the worst journalist, politician and human being that we've seen lead the country in modern times?

How's he failed in your view?
London isn't purely labour but the candidates the Tories put against him are USELESS so he does run only semi-opposed IMO
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What has he succeeded at? He’s failed to meet pretty much all objectives he’s had, we’ve seen no reduction in homelessness, stabbings, crime, he hasn’t met his housing building aims, still hasn’t removed all the cladding from nearly 40% of properties that the green fell report indicated should be removed nearly 2 years ago, he’s bankrupted TFL twice, he changes his opinion every week on things.
I just can’t think of anything he’s done well, the guy is a bumbling buffoon

True, the level of top level / choice politicians here and in the states has been awful
Theresa May, Corbyn, Ed Milliband, Hilary, Bernie Saunders, Shaun Bailey, Gordon Brown,
Shouldn’t be anywhere near top roles
The @Foodanddrinkfed has published a snapshot of UK food & drink exports in January to accompany the ONS data. Stark stats galore: Salmon exports to the EU fell by 98% compared to Jan 2020, beef by 91.5%. Pork (-86.9%) & cheese (-85.1%) close behind. Exports to Ireland fell by 84.9%.

Crime has in fact gone up a lot during his tenure.
The Labour gents are right though - he’s faced extremely poor competition sadly.
Sajid Javid should of been their major option
Bit like David Milliband should of been Labour’s horse vs David Cameron
