“Lucy Allan has been suspended from the Party with immediate effect. The people of Telford now have the chance to vote for a dedicated and hardworking new candidate who will put Telford first. A vote for Reform is a vote for Keir Starmer.”

She's not my MP but one over, and she's been absolutely horrendous for Telford who only kept her seat in 2019 due to Brexit.

She's also the MP who faked death threats against herself.

I’ve got a link to Telford having lived there when my dad worked in the midlands in the late 90’s, I didn’t realise how much of a marginal it’s been the last few elections.

2017 I think it was, the Labour candidate rejected the Greens offer to stand down and he then lost by less votes than the Greens received.

I expect it'll be Labour this time.

MPs from the @LabourParty who are standing for re-election couldn’t even be bothered to draft their own tweet calling for a ceasefire in #Gaza. That’s how sincere they are about this whole issue.

NEW: Sunak targeting the Grey vote with a “triple lock plus” for pensioners as he pledges to automatically raise threshold at which they start paying income tax so it always ahead of state pension. No 10 says it’ll save 8m pensioners £100 next year & nearly £300 by end of decade

£300 by end of decade? By then that’ll be worth about £30

Just in time to be Labour's problem

Perhaps they will arrange some sort of checkless access for UK and EU citizens across our borders

Some sort of freedom of movement if you will

I remember that being one of Keith’s binned pledges

Reeves repeats pledge that corporation tax will be capped at its current rate for the duration of the next parliament. That’s alongside the pledge not to raise income tax or NI. And pledges not to enact major spending cuts.

So where are we getting money from lads

Hamish de Bretton-Gordon (most normal Tory name) with an impressively dumb article in the Telegraph about national service.

He originally wrote it saying young people should do it as a way to repay their debt for furlough, because obviously 13 and 14 year old's in 2020 were the ones receiving furlough

Now he's realised his error he's changed it to say as a thank you for lockdown, when I'm pretty sure we went into lockdown to save the elderly

Dear Tories

Thank you for partying and defrauding the country whilst we upended our lives during lockdown. Can my kids join the army for 2 years to display our gratitude, ta!

Ever get the impression Armando Ianucci is writing speeches for them?

The telegraph has become a sort of satirical comic

There's too many to pick out but this guy's catalogue of misery would have any reader thinking the world is about to end
