I can get behind the criticism of paying for it herself, but the sleaze angle their trying to produce here is just nonsense for me.

A terrorist attack was foiled and the horrible Southport killings were also during a Taylor Swift dance class. I think it's entirely sensible to therefore be a bit apprehensive something else could happen involving her concerts.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We also think nothing of football teams getting police escorts to and from away grounds without the same outrage.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Eh? They don’t get Met blue light escorts other than local plod getting them through a crowd and effectively monitoring traffic flow.

All the Taylor Swift story says to me is that a number of journos out there can't seem to operate anymore unless there's some kind of scandal to report.

A terrorist attack was foiled at one of her shows, so it made perfect sense to give her additional security for her London shows. Starmer then meets her, big whoop-de-doo.

Could you imagine if they ignored her request and then something happened?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

There was no threat and the request was declined.

Only self interest from government officials with vested interests interfered to demand the cover only ever given to royalty or the most senior of state officials. On top of that why not pay for it herself?

Dress it up any way you like but those are the simple facts.

It’s even denied to Harry and his Mrs for goodness sakes.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It’s a non-story that’s made the front pages of the rags and been lapped up by rabid, snowflake right wingers.

Dress it up how you like but those are the simple facts.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

How do non stories make the front page headlines of practically every media outlet and stay there for days on end?

That doesn’t can make sense
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We kniw who you mean specifically when you say practically every media outlet.

The same media outlets that printed headline after headline for weeks about Starmer having food after work in Durham to try and find false equivalence with the melaise of the Tory government at the time.

Two interest rate cuts by the end of the year and projections for it to be down to 3.75% by the end of 2025, from what I’ve been advised.

Do you? That’s very intuitive. And incorrect.

By all means name me a serious media outlet that hasn’t had this as a headline and front page news.

Club coaches get police bike escorts all the time

What's the difference between police on bikes in London giving Swift an escort to police on bikes in Manchester escorting the LFC coached in/out of Old Trafford?

Good grief. Is this a stock response for you? Try a new one or at least something resembling accuracy.

Even better; try addressing the scandal that the public see and not just your take on it. There’s reasons that the current incumbents ratings are so low and sinking further.

Or is that a non story as well?

And on that note I’ve a two hour car journey to make so I’ll leave you to carry on the crusade of defending the indefensible. Enjoy

----------------------------------------------------------------------
After a previous threat was foiled and a recent linked attack in Southport was taken into account.

Point is a police escort is used in other circumstances without the same scandal, outrage or whatever RW tabloids tell you to feel.

Saying it's been in the media loads means nothing when the Mail, Express etc will bang on about a nothing story/manufactured scandal on the front pages for weeks on end.

No wonder this country is doomed, mock shock, puerile pearl clutchers getting highly animated over not very much whilst we're arming foreign armies, struggling with the national debt and helping the worst off amongst us.
Least it shows in glorious technicolour how infantile the right wing media in this country are. Starmer is not Johnson/Truss lads, your leaders had their hands in the till, diminished this country and demotted its influence before using it as a laboratory for bat5hit economic experiments.

If it turns out to be correct!

But yes, based on the advice I’ve been given, one might consider a 12 month deal and then fix for a longer term in early 26.

Most folk are more than capable of working out for themselves that free gear Keir is a self serving hypocrite.

Looking forward to PMQ's today.
