Vance has nowhere near the charisma of Trump though. Maybe that'll improve in time but he says some very strange things and doesn't have the showmanship of Trump to sell it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They’ve four years to rig the game in his favour.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is true, they've got the house, the senate and the supreme court locked in for 2 years.
Suppose we now see if project 2025 is real.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Are the Dems not even gonna win the house?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I read earlier they were not but just looked again and looks like they might just pip it 211-209
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Least they’ll win something

It’s the people that Trump and Vance will now enable whom we should be worried about. The Republican machine is now more heavily stocked with political authoritarians, religious fundamentalists and economic disaster capitalists than Reagan might have had nightmares about.
-------------
I think a lot of it will come down whether all these guys will actually be able to work together.
You've got egos like Musk, RFK involved now, and they're the sort who always think they're the smartest guy in the room.
It's easy to work together to win an election but once power starts being handed out it could be peak back stabbing.

@rosso, on your comments about Trump only caring about whatever pertains to his wealth and freedom, having reached this point in his life I doubt there are many things -if any at all- he'd love more than absolute power.

I’ve never seen anyone who deserved to lose a state so badly on policy alone, and that was before they sent an elderly rapist to smugly lecture Palestinians who had lost family members about King David

RFK will be gone very soon, imo.
Musk and the tech bros, at least for the time being seem to be mainly about expanding their own personal empires and whatever leaves them free to rule cyberspace unfettered.
I don't think they need worry about giving the religious loonies more power, as it's clear they'll keep voting Republican regardless.

Even if he did want it, and did get it, he wouldn’t be making policy decisions.
He isn’t interested in politics beyond the popularity contest. He isn’t ideological, he doesn’t have a moral compass, and he isn’t interested enough in the plight of the common man or woman to be bothered by realpolitik.
He’d be happy being sat on the throne, no doubt. But I don’t believe he’d be remotely distracted by what his advisors and their various vested interests were busy doing with his kingdom beyond those very narrow personal interests of his.

Roughly *67%* of voters rated the economy as "not so good/poor," per Washington Post exit polls
A shockingly poor number amid a hot labor market, booming stocks, much lower inflation, growing GDP
But widespread voter dissatisfaction w/ the economy been clear for years

Granted it's her first one but pretty laughable PMQ's by Badenoch, using her half her q's to talk about Labour's previous stance on Trump, and then saying Stamer's answers are scripted whilst she's literally reading from a script.
Trump only cares about America and Americans, he doesn't care what the outside world thinks of him, I wish we had a leader more like him.
We saved something like £1.3b by cutting the WFA, and it's costing us £1.5b to house illegals. And people wonder why the right is gaining momentum in Europe.
Let's hope this is the beginning of the end of wokism.

I mean that all started under a Tory government who spent years shouting how Brexit would allow us to secure our borders.
The money is as high as it is because they stopped processing asylum claims, when if they'd carried on there would be a lot less stuck endlessly in hotels right now, with a decent chunk rejected.
