“All because a game show host and a rich nerd who wants a hug from his dad fooled a load of people.”

A quick bit of math determines that Musk - on his own - spent on Trump’s campaign more than *six times* the spending limit for a political party contesting every seat in a UK general election (US$200m vs £25m).

Estimates put him (literally) tens of billions of dollars richer since the result was announced though, so that US$200m looks like a pretty decent investment on his part.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

And I genuinely don’t think it was (that much) about the money for him. He’s now a defacto co-president. Stephen King was banned on Twitter today for calling him the ‘First Lady’ 😆

He’s now part of Trumps phone calls to Putin and has such power now that he has to be classed as one of the most dangerous men on the planet. A deadly outcome of what happens when the richest man on the planet is radicalised.

The Telegraph have a story today saying 3000 pupils have quit private schools due to the VAT rise and are suggesting Labour have vastly underestimated how many would quit which is going to be a problem for public schools.

The same Telegraph which said before the election that up to 225,000 pupils would quit and overwhelm public ones

Not sticking up for Kennedy but one of the reasons America (and growing here) has an obesity epidemic is because some of the "ingredients" in their foods are basically poisons, chemicals, preservatives, flavours, sugar/salt alternatives, that the body cannot process.
The EU, for example, have banned American sweeties because of the colouring chemicals they use in, I can't remember exactly, either M+Ms or Skittles.

Hell of a quote this that I've just seen on Twitter from a Trump voter:

In Scranton on Wednesday, Matt Wolfson, a 45-year-old former construction worker, looked around at poverty in the Rust Belt city and thought the nation needed a change in leadership.

Wolfson said he didn't love the dictatorial aspect of Trump's personality, but thought it could help keep the country out of wars and maybe bring peace to some other conflicts, including in Ukraine.

"He's good and bad. People say he's a dictator. I believe that. I consider him like Hitler." Wolfson said. "But I voted for the man."

One of the issues with Kennedy is that he wants to throw the baby out with the bath water. On a surface level lots of what he’s campaigned about over the years makes sense. At one point in his life he could have gone the Greta Thunberg route but instead the brain worms made him an extremist in bad faith positions to take. Just another person where a little bit of knowledge becomes a dangerous thing.

Anti-vaxxer, 5G conspiracist and AIDS denier Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said over the weekend that he intends to terminate 600 employees at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and replace them with a new group of workers.

“We need to act fast, and we want to have those people in place on January 20 so that on January 21, 600 people are going to walk into offices at NIH, and 600 people are going to leave."

The NIH is a federal agency that is part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and serves as the nation's medical research agency. Its workforce is similar to that of universities and academic medical centers. NIH employees work in research settings, clinics and in the field worldwide. Many are world-renowned experts in their respective disciplines.

Anti-seed oil and flouridated water campaigner Kennedy has also said that he will clear out "entire departments" of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

“In some categories, there are entire departments, like the nutrition department at the FDA that are—that have to go, that are not doing their job, they're not protecting our kids.”

Here’s a reminder of something else Kennedy said recently, posting on social media below a photo of Bill Gates:

“The digitalized economy? We get rid of cash and coins. We give you a chip. We put all your money in your chip. If you refuse a vaccine, we turn off the chip and you starve!”

Everything is going to go so well in the US these next four years…

Obesity isn't an American problem? 40% of Americans are obese, twice what we are and 30+% more than China.

Food deserts are another issue as is the price of groceries and fresh produce. But you are right food regulations too is an important factor, as is life style and city planning.
