----------------------------------------------------------------------
The pr!k will do to Ukraine what he did to the Kurds. Fvk him and fvk America.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why should the US be held responsible for arming Ukraine when their own European partners bar us and the French can’t be really bothered?
Until we step up and properly fund a defence within Europe he and America are entitled to leave us to our own devices. Europe is to blame for allowing Putin to take the Ukraine and by current reports it won’t be too long before they do. Europe have allowed millions to die as a result of self centred and selfish ineptitude.
What county will be next on Putin’s sight line after this one?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You might want to look at amounts pledged to support Ukraine vs GDP. US vs Germany, for example.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Which is all well and good; but again why should the US continue to be the fallback defence of many European nations who couldn’t agree on the colour of sheite?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Arguably because the US was the biggest supporter of Zelesny’s government, and was the one pushing hardest for Ukrainian membership of NATO prior to the conflict?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And is exactly why Europe should fund and be able to defence itself and its neighbours. Gifting long range missiles with a proviso that they can’t be used for long range targets was ridiculous. As was zero appetite for giving air cover in time.
Counting on the US because we always have was a policy that one day would end as politics and ideals shift. Which is likely where we are now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hopefully so.
But the point was that Zelensky might not have been in power, and Russia might not have occupied Donbas, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson if it hadn’t been for the US pushing Ukrainian membership of Nato.

NATO’s long been America flexing its imperial muscles over Europe. It’s not simply a case of Europe relying on America to protect itself, the balance of power has been in America’s favour since the Second World War.

One has resulted from the other I’d suggest. Bottom line from me is why should we think that America should continue to be our fallback?

Trump is a deranged, egotistical and dangerous, lying and deceitful individual. As a country I’d be happier if we ditched this “special relationship” nonsense in a heartbeat and be seen to completely distance ourselves.

It was tremendous and I have to say possibly right up there with the best I’ve ever eaten. 10oz of Wagyu top sirloin done medium rare. I’m sat down waiting on a chicken hot pot and after writing that am salivating at the memory. This is what she’s reduced me to

In fairness if the US abandons Ukraine it won’t be because the going got tough. It’ll be because a group of Putin sponsored traitors will have infiltrated the US government to the point where funding is taken away.
There is bipartisan support for helping Ukraine whatever it takes otherwise. And there would have been far more support given but for those spoiled votes in congress.

If he's smart he doesn't do the awful stuff until after the mid terms in 2 years
He can get "quick wins" by stopping Israel and ending the conflict in Ukraine, though I fear whatever peace he achieves will be short term and just kick bigger problems down the road
This DOGE stuff is troubling (and cringe as fack) it's akin to being in a mine shaft and thinking we need less support beams so let's just smash a few and see if the roof caves in
Then of course there's deportations and women's rights, if he does the 2025 stuff on that in 2025 some of the demographics that voted for him will turn

“In 2020, Gaetz was accused of seex trafficking and having sexual relationships with minors. After an investigation, the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) decided not to charge him, though Gaetz remains under investigation of the House Ethics Committee
Erm..
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Trump is a deranged, egotistical and dangerous, lying and deceitful individual. As a country I’d be happier if we ditched this “special relationship” nonsense in a heartbeat and be seen to completely distance ourselves.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You and me both, the world needs to isolate itself from
America assp.

The sooner the UK and Europe distance themselves from the US diplomatically and militarily, the better, for the continent and the wider world.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agreed as I’ve mentioned above
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How was your steak btw? The wife is veggie so it isn’t often I partake. I think I still remember what one tastes like
----------------------------------------------------------------------
My Mrs is veggie as well so I only get to eat meat when away on holiday or out for dinner
It was tremendous and I have to say possibly right up there with the best I’ve ever eaten. 10oz of Wagyu top sirloin done medium rare. I’m sat down waiting on a chicken hot pot and after writing that am salivating at the memory. This is what she’s reduced me to
Place called The Summer House on Siesta Key. You ever get there; you won’t regret it

Russian asset Tulsi Gabbard now the director of National Intelligence 🙄
Putin managed to defeat the US without firing a single bullet at them. Well played I guess. The pen is mightier than the sword.

Trump will be encouraging Israel.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ginger how many countrIes or people's has the US promised to defend and fvked off when the going got tough? Vietnam, Laos, more recently Iraq, Kurds, and soon to be Ukraine.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fack them though

NATO’s long been America flexing its imperial muscles over Europe. It’s not simply a case of Europe relying on America to protect itself, the balance of power has been in America’s favour since the Second World War.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
One has resulted from the other I’d suggest. Bottom line from me is why should we think that America should continue to be our fallback?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But Europe have been unable to wrestle power back within NATO from the Americans as they’ve not really allowed it.
I don’t think it’s simply a case of thinking America should be our fallback, it’s that NATO’s long served America’s military, economic and foreign policy interest and they’re the superpower that Europe has been kowtowing to.
Despite Trump’s bluster about funding, America have never really cared that much about this for the aforementioned reasons. America have long dominated arms sales and corporate monopolies in the regions that they’ve set their stall out using NATO.
The issue here is Europe’s failure to stand up to America’s imperialism, rather than relying on it for defence.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
American hegemony. I live less than an hour away from USA and haven't been there in 25 years and I'll never go back.

Indeed. It’s why I consider America the greatest empire to have existed. None have ever had such power, whilst simultaneously convincing the world they aren’t even an empire.

Plenty. Which again begs the question why should America defend anyone, particularly when you fake into account their track record so to speak.
Even worse is why we would expect them to?
posted 18 hours, 41 minutes ago
Because America’s foreign policy means they have certain obligations to other nations.

Sad thing is Biden can't even help them, theyve misunderstood the SCOTUS verdict, Biden has no real power left other than pardoning his son
