I was reading up on the DOGE ‘department’ that Vivek and Elmo will run and it’s pretty toothless. It needs at least 98% senate backing for anyone to be sacked and the unions will kick off too. It actually seems like a toy Trump has given Musk to play with to get him away from him and feel important.

I saw a clip of Vivek from where they discussed how to cut staff, and no joke he mooted the idea of simply doing it by cutting everyone who's social security number ends in an odd number.

He claimed it was just a thought experiment which they wouldn't actually use as the metric, but that it would work because that way no one can claim they've been let go due to discrimination of any kind.

He then went onto say that like any business everyone knows 25% of staff do 80-90% of the work.

Just pure unhinged, out of touch bo!!ocks that's going to lead to a ton of massively overworked government employees.

A historian pointed out that it’s how the gestapo started. A non governmental organisation that was set up to hunt out dissenters and eventually we saw what happened.

No doubt people will start calling it the DoGestapo. And I can’t wait.

Hezbollah has hit them hard the last few days, 6 soldiers were killed in an ambush and they’ve obliterated parts of the north with attacks. They’re wound up and lashing out.

Lebanon is such a tiny country, and so many buildings have been reduced to rubble. It’s so heartbreaking, I dunno when this is gonna end.

That’s consistent in their outlook, to be fair.

Absolutely fantastic what Musk and Vivek are planning about the full transparency and publishing of everything they cut and what taxes are and have been spent on so all data will be available at everyone’s fingertips

They should do that in this country, every Tory would be sacked
