It seems that the many of the attacks on Asians are by black people...

In 2008, 85% of race attacks were black on Asian in the bay area of San Fran.

Apparently, in the latest spat of attacks, no stats are available.

If it's true, what is causing black people to react this way?

Spot on, this time last year I cycled daily as a 55 year old asthmatic watching Italian hospital vids, and roads were empty.

Yesterday was superb as nobody about an a 200 mile trip, but today going to vaccine in Bank today and it was insane traffic, so we ate staying in over Easter now lol.

Petrolheads like me used to biker and car out over Easter in North Antrim rally and racer land, but not this Easter.

But 13% is the population of black people in the USA, not San Francisco. I'm sure you can see the mistake you are making and how much worse you make it look than it actually is.

There is no evidence to suggest that most asian racism comes from black people. In fact, black and Asian people have a lot of similarities in the way they are oppressed.

Black to Asian racism is historically based on opportunities, and wealth whereas historical white to other people racism is based on claims of superiority. Black people don't think they're better or superior to Asians, they think Asians are taking opportunities from them.

As for San Francisco and LA, and why tensions between blacks and Asians exist, then know your history.

I know lots of black people who’ve been pretty nonchalant and dismissive about the recent hate crime. Part of the issue is a lot of people in certain neighbourhoods experiences of Asian (usually Chinese) people in the US is that they hold the corner stores - don’t give jobs to black people and then follow them around the store the whole time as if they are about to steal something. Unfortunately they let the few tarnish the lot.
