Ok I think Derek Chauvin might be finished.
'Unauthorised' neck restraint used on George Floyd

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Will depend on what people want the reuslt to be
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well I think the medical cause of death with the drugs in his system is the next issue. But it’s now abundantly clear that it’s (using the knee) not standard practice for that situation at all.

second degree murder
third degree murder
2nd degree manslaughter
2nd degree murder is causing unintended death while in the act of a felony. So they have to prove beyond reasonable doubt he knowingly committed an illegal act against Floyd (ie a painful hold that isnt approved to use)
I dont fully understand the way the 3rd degree murder charge works there - it seems to be more applicable to drug dealers who cause deaths by dealing tainted drugs. Its dangerous behaviour that causes death by accident but it doesnt seem to be used much in these sort of cases.
Form my understanding the manslaughter charge is the easiest to get him on but obviously they want a murder charge.
Think Sat Nav is right and this probably clinches it within reasonable doubt if the defence doesnt have a good response to the police departments position (like a training manual or something)
second degree murder
thats whut Chauvin did

States or Cities can
The World Health Organization on Tuesday said it did not currently support requiring vaccination passports for travel, because of uncertainty over whether inoculation prevents transmission, and discrimination concerns.

WHO have also advised against it
Not sure how the US situation affects New York as I thought that mug crazy cuomo was trying to bring them in
Becomes a lot harder legally without government backing too 4za
I’m pleasantly stunned and surprised Biden isn’t doing it
Then again look at the evidence, Americans have been living like it’s Covid free for the last 3-4 weeks and have had no spikes. Combination of vaccine and end of winter as we knew but U.K. refuses to accept, we’ve had lower average of cases than America, higher vaccine rollout and we’ve been in lockdown for 5-6 months not that we was ever out of it with tiers anyway (poor Leicester been in highest level since June 2020!!) and we’ve still got 6 weeks and even then it’s not going to be freedom
Utter madness

AstraZeneca vaccine paused in the UK for children due to cases of blood clots
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So the smelly EU guys were right?
Why did the UK not find this out before handing it out?
Seems this "Just get it done" thing isn't always the best policy. Oh well.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The chest thumping has cooled down.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not for the young folk taking AZ.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bad boy you!
I wouldn't be disappointed if Chauvin got done for Manslaughter. At this time I don't understand why it has to be murder. Maybe I'm missing something.
BREAKING NEWS:
A top government scientist has suggested pausing vaccinations for the under-50s while the regulator investigates the risk of blood clotting from the AstraZeneca jab.
Top Dr Maggie Wearmouth, a member of the joint committee on vaccination and immunisation (JCVI), opened the possibility to 'slowing things down' until the MHRA determines Britain's home-grown shot is completely safe. She said: 'The issue is about safety and public confidence. We don't want to cover anything up that we feel that the public should be knowing.' Last night Oxford University halted trials of its vaccine in children until the MHRA probe publishes its conclusion, which is expected in the coming days. People are still being encouraged to have the AstraZeneca jab and yesterday Boris Johnson (pictured left, on a visit to an AZ plant yesterday) said it was 'very very important' the public go for their inoculations. Scientists stress that cases of blood clotting remain extremely rare and have only been displayed in 30 recipients of the AstraZeneca vaccine - out of a total 18million (graph, top right). But Dr Wearmouth warned ministers threatened fracturing public trust if they pressed ahead with the rollout without being in full command of the evidence. Nearly 32million have now received their first dose (chart, bottom right).
Minister for Small Business Paul Scully says the Moderna Covid-19 vaccine will be rolled out in England in "the next few days"
Boost for UK's vaccination programme as 100,000 to receive Moderna vaccine next week
In May 150,000 a week will get the vaccine, before major ramp up in June
Vaccine made in Swiss factory, finished in Spain & exported to UK

The EU’s green pass, which will allow citizens of EU and EEA member states to travel freely around the EU/EEA area, has been approved by EU Parl for fast tracking.
The aim is to have it in place and functional by mid-June to allow for a summer tourism season across the bloc.
Denmark have already rolled out their own internal digital and paper certificate allowing the vaccinated and those who have had a negative test in the last 72 hours to access retail, services and arts and entertainment establishments.
Still nothing in the British media about the pause for the AZ vaccine in this country after weeks of beating their chests and shaaggging their flags when some countries in the EU did it.
Lots in the UK press today pushing the govt to consider shifting to much cheaper lateral flow testing to allow foreign travel, but the more is published on it, the more suspect it looks.
A new study of studies shows lateral flow testing only returns a positive result in 58% of positive, asymptomatic cases.
Which makes us bollox all use if you’re trying to stop people who’ve been on holiday bringing COVID-19 back into the country.
