Gotta look at Mig again. Had he gone with his right hand he would have tipped that over.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Mignolet had a good game. He was NEVER saving that. It was a cross.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You are still allowed to save a cross. His poor technique cost us. Don't care if he was good earlier. When the time came he let us down.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It’s become his trademark.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Need to stop apportioning blame on the players.
The goal was a bit of a fluke, so for me there is little blame to be put on Mignolet.
The points for me were dropped from the sideline.

Just asked my goalkeeper mate.

His exact words

Yeah watched the second half no way you can blame him if any one says your man meant to score from there they are full a shte it was a cross I wouldn’t have been set for a shot from there
---------------------------------------------------------------------
And my brother was a very good goalkeeper and he says he should have been a step back toward his line.

Of the two Sunderland keepers at the time, think you picked the wrong 'un.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Who was the other?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Gordon at the time I think.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yer, he’d have been much better!

We should have stuck with Reina
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And just so you know Gordon wasn’t at Sunderland when we signed Mignolet!

Gordon is atrocious.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He was a good keeper before Defoe injured him.

Probably still better than mignolet....

He actually got MOTM in the game before today when his team lost 4-0. He made a string of saves.

That’s probably why he plays in the Irish leagues then.

a worldclass keeper probably keeps that out, mignolet is a far shout from one of them

It's easy to blame the goalkeeper when like myself you know nothing about goalkeeping. Like my mate said, he's set for a cross and suddenly it's looping over him.

My brother played national leagues over here, not quite as high but still very high.

Just beg to differ, i think his positioning was a little off, not by much but that’s the difference between the elite and the good.

Personally i don’t even blame mig for the draw as i think we dropped far too deep and it invited all that on.

No. Goalkeeper is a specialist position that most if us don't understand. Even being in the lowly Irish league a goalkeeper would know more than a world class ex player like Gerrard.

Pointless fair. Chelsea looked very dangerous on the counter and we struggled at times.

Disappointed wither subs or lack of. Bring to on in the 87 minute for me wasn't proactive enough for me from Klopp.

We worked hard and dominated possession but after we scored you could see the panic in the team. Others just a matter of time before Chelsea scored.

They are a very good side. We matched them but we are still too open at times, especially our own corners where Chelsea broke on us time and time again.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah that was my main disappointment with the game.

They should have taken advantage several times.

We have to be better organised than that as it was too easy.

Lots of positives for me though.

Gomez was good. Good return from Matip. Salah superb. Made changes but didn’t get beat against a side with top drawer players.

Shame we didn’t win having taken the lead but two hard games this week and we haven’t been beaten.

For all the talk of how terrible our midfield and defence is, we sure don’t lose very often.

But if he’s a step back he covers the cross and the shot, that’s my point. An elite keeper covers both there, migs didn’t. Like i said he did very well in the first half and i don’t blame him as we dropped far too deep and invited pressure on.

Gerrard has watched keepers train and be coached at the highest level for 20 years.

Just because he’s not a keeper doesn’t mean he doesn’t know what a keeper should be looking to do.

I thought Mig might have done better, but we didn’t really do enough to win anyway.

We know Mig is not a top keeper, it’s not news.

In fairness Gerrard knows as much about keeping as Bruno Cheyrou
