Dirty Leeds
I thought the horrors of that performance against Hull would be the low-point of our season but #Stokegate is possibly even worse.
Vernam on loan to Grimsby
He could Vidal but why should he (yet)? As Owen Bradley tweeted ...
"When would he have had opportunity? The question will be asked next time he faces the media, no doubt. But Hughes was still Stoke manager on Friday when Rowett last did interviews."

This all seems to have blown up the instant Heb took over as PoTY. Just saying.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I had assumed that his appointment wasn't all that controversial: Gary obviously thought otherwise
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I made it quite clear that I would not interfere and would let GR run the football side of things....I did give him a few helpful suggestions though........
Why should he? Because speculation is rife, fans are anxious (Ang is feeling sick) and it would make it all go away instantly.
I used to regularly write to Arthur Cox back in the day, with helpful suggestions. He would always write back politely, although his final missive: "All I can do is to try to improve the situation" did hint at a certain weariness at my persistence.
I wonder if Rowett would actually fancy the Stoke job TBH?
A team full of under performing Premiership egos to deal with and no guarantee of staying-up?
On other unrelated (buy vaguely footie based) matters, I wonder what Forests board (and ex-manager) think of their team after under performing for months then beating the Arsenal B team?
It has been suggested to me that he does, GrouseR. Hopefully he is just saying this in order to strengthen his position at Derby. Maybe a contract extension, pay rise, guaranteed paying up of his contract if he gets sacked, that sort of thing.

No we don't Fin. What will be happening, or more likely what will already have happened over the weekend, is a bit of informal sounding-out of those managers Stoke have on their wishlist. News of this tends to get out and it is impossible to believe that Rowett is not one of those. It doesn't mean he is necessarily first choice. The longer Rowett keeps quiet the more likely it is that he is at least either interested or else using it as a lever to get a pay rise. The person I know does not make things up and so I have no doubt that Rowett is at the very least open to the prospect. But he is not going to burn his bridges at Derby unless he is the preferred candidate. Even then it would need a formal approach and after that it would be up to Mel whether he takes the same line as Watford recently and resist it all.
Rowett could end it all instantly if he wanted to, with a simple statement.

Just before Rowett was made Derby manager I posted on here that my I had had a piece of inside information that he had been given the job. Some might remember it. The same source has just told me that Rowett is keen on the Stoke job if offered it.Take it with a pinch of salt, just passing it on.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Vidal - my source (who was heavily involved with BIrmingham at the time and is still on very good terms with GR), told me Rowett/Brum were approached before Schteve was appointed 2nd time round but that, as Brum wouldnt release him, Rowett stuck to his contract.
When the new owners of Brum took over and stupidly sacked him, we were always his preferred destination with the deal only a matter of crossing Ts etc.
So, assuming we wouldn't want to release him anyway, and I cant see why we would, then he won't go anywhere.
That interview predates Hughes' sacking Jorv.
Does that really matter Vidal? MM looks comfortable with GR
Peeder, that's hopeful information! As I said, take it with a pinch of salt but my own source is definitely in a position to know things if it involves players or managers he has dealings with, as is the case here. Certainly Rowett or his agent has let it be known that he might fancy the job at Stoke, but there could be more than one motive for this, as I have suggested.
I'm sure MM IS comfortable with GR Jorv! Why wouldn't he be? It's more a question of how much that is reciprocated!

If he does actually go to Stoke, (and I don't think he will), DCFC want to make sure they get a cheque as big and as fat as they can, (a 666-esque cheque if you will).
Remember when ManU cane knocking for McClaren back in 1999 and we let him go for 'nowt , even though he had about six months left on his contract? Someone at Derby must have got all star-struck, as I'd have made the Mancs pay full whack.
"Rebuff" is a fantastic word. DET also says: "as things stand" though. Somewhat usually, I agree with 666 here. "We'll see what we'll see". Unusually insightful from the pasty chomper.
If we do get a 666-size cheque, we'll be the Man City of the East Midlands, and that's a FACT.
