I think they’d both be very good options Jenius.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We have been apparently negotiating with Loew since 2013. But you can never tell till he finally leaves Germany.
Didn't he just sign a new deal with Germany
Can anyone really see Arsenal catching up with City, United and Chelsea over the next few seasons? And Liverpool seem to be getting their act together too. Spurs may well be a force in their new stadium.
I really can’t see how arsenal break into that without starting again

Alexis was washed up at Barca. That's why they let him go for just £30m at 26!
Ozil did cost £42m. But again Real Madrid did not want him anymore.
The idea that these players were unknown and would cost so much to replace is rubbish.
If anything the player profile off these players have increased at Arsenal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No offence or wumming here but i'd say that they have actually stagnated at Arsenal.
They where already household names at the previous respected clubs, and they where let go and then came to Arsenal to try to salvage or at least maintain their careers. They haven't quite managed to remain as successful but still their respective stocks hasn't really been affected that much surprisingly.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's the difference between big players in a smaller pond.
Stagnation or not. Their profile is much higher now. Or do you think we could have bought them in the first place had united or city or Chelsea come in for them?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think both player's profiles where already high. Sanchez has been more effective at Arsenal than he was at Barca. Ozil has been a mix of both great and 'meh' at times. He was more effective at Madrid on a regular basis. So much so that Ronaldo was not too pleased about Madrid selling him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep. Ronnie was miffed when ozil left. But that doesn't explain why utd or city or Chelsea or juve or psg etc. didn't come in for him. By the way if he was to leave then it would only to one of those clubs because only they can match the wages he wants.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We where kind of in a mess post Fergie time. So maybe they thought otherwise to join us?

It depends who’ll pay him the most, I imagine. It’d be nice if he based his choice on whether he wants to be part of a famous football club or part of a marketing strategy for an Arab state, but I can’t see it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is that state Saudi Arabia by any chance?
---------------------------------------------------------------------
It would be nice if he based his choice on whether he wanted to work with the world's best manager playing attractive football for a team that are in real contention to win things or whether he wanted to play for a team that used to be a top team but now employ a defensive manager and a style that is akin to Pulis on steroids, as part of a club that exists to subsidise shopping malls in the US.
There, fixed it for you.

Yeah but you won't finish above them. And as much as you want to downplay Ozil and Sanchez's form they're still by far your best players and will be very difficult to replace.
Not convinced about this ridiculous money for the next manager either, Arsenal's transfer policy would suggsst there isn't ridiculous money for transfers.
But then you believe the study that Arsenal have the second highest spending power in world football, so clearly have your head in the sand.

That would be disastrous actually. Managers don't ever do that as it's a huge distraction for the players. Pep had no choice because of his contract situation. What do you think will happen if Germany have a poor worlds cup? No one can forecast these things. There is a reason why Gazidis has been in touch with Loew since 2013. Personally I would be just as happy with Allegri.

Thats the amount that Arsenal can spend if you take into account P/e ratios. Do I think they will? Nope. But I don't think it will take near that amount to be challenging again. At the moment City have blown everyone out of the water irrespective of Utds huge spending. It will take time for everyone to catch up. But football moves very fast and Arsenal actually have very rich owners who do invest if needed. Kroenke just spent $3bn on a stadium.

I think there is a big misunderstood. If anyone think the current changes Arsenal are going through in the background (new DoF, head scouting, etc..) are results (on the pitch) driven then they need to get themselves checked.
They are business driven and it is just call investment.
The Puma deal comes to end soon and in the long term, it will be more damaging if AFC were to miss again on the CL.
Up to now, Wenger had his freedom because he managed to make top 4. In his first failure, changes started to happen behind his back. This should tell you everything you need to know.
Not suggesting they will go on and spend £700M but they will surely invest if/when needed.

Its actually all abt leveraging brand value. That's why Arsenal and any club needs to stay in the CL and have to spend to stay there. Stadiums in the US actually work in a different way. Because franchises can move city to city, it's the city which buys the stadium to attract a franchise. Kroenke could have used the money LA offered but he preferred to spend the money himself. He is building a global sports empire and can't afford his crown jewel to lose brand value. This is why I think he will spend for the right players to get Arsenal challenging again.
