And if we have really offered Mkhi to them then it’s a very good deal, Wenger is a big fan of his.

Arsenal won't sell to us and Sanchez wants City. If the interest is true then Ed is wasting his time.

I'm honestly surprised that Sanchez hasn't been linked with PSG yet or even Madrid, or am i missing something?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Apparently his agent had been telling clubs it was a done deal and the Europeans find it hard to compete on wages. According to sky, man utd are willing to blow city out on wages so all those verbal nods to City are worth nothing now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It's not like City will pay him a pittance in accordance to what we could afford. Irrespective of if we can pay more wages, i still think his heart is set on City. Due to their style of play and manager.

Granted he may play less at City (quality of rotation squad size) compared to us, but i think he sees City as a more attractive 'project' right now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you honestly think any of that matters? Players have a limited playing time. Bottom line is all. As utd are willing to offer much more than the rather pathetic £20m from city, arsenal prefer utd especially because they are also offering a player. Jose knows how to do business with wenger going back to gallas for cole. If City are counting on Alexis's promises then they are nuts. City are going to have to up their offer to arsenal and Alexis.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

But the most important aspect of this potential deal hinges on WHERE Sanchez WANTS to go...Irrespective of the linked parties' own interests are.

Sanchez is a quality player and as you say - he has limited playing time as the years roll by. I'm sure a player like him wants to be successful by the time his playing career is finished. And at this present time, City look 'invincible', while we're still in the process of playing catch up.

Money money money. Thats what Alexis wants. He has already won everything with Barca.

And invincible or not. Your success this season has nothing to do with Alexis. He is not going to get any credit for that. Next season will be a new season.

This all seems very strange. If we are truly in for him then where are we getting the encouragement from? It's seemed it's been City or nothing for months.

I'm still calling BS on this. It's been a relatively lackluster transfer window, minus Liverpool, so I wouldn't be shocked if the media are just stirring the pot.

It even says ‘Sky Italy’ understands, and the only thing it claims ‘Sky Sports’ know is that City are interested.

Alexis has never won the CL. He has one league title. City will pay him and give him the footballing opportunities he clearly wants.

After all this just watch him end up at Liverpool.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I really don't think it's just money with Sanchez. He will still command a handsome wage from City. And who's to say that there won't be any 'backhander' deals included in the City deal? They are looking more likely to win trophies at a more consistent rate than we are at present. That's not to say that things couldn't change in future seasons, but Sanchez could possibly only be thinking about the shorter term.

As the football world environment has changed somewhat, less players care less about the grand statuses of traditional clubs and care more about the present successes (as well as money of course).

In general if you are more successful as a player, then you are eligible to command a higher wage (and sponsorship deals) should you feel the need to leave for another big club who can afford you.

I'm not sure, could have said the same 3 years or so ago when he joined Arsenal

I still can't believe Arsenal have let their star asset run down his contract in the last four years. They should've got rid in 2016 at least if they weren't sure he would commit.

And Ozil as well.

I am surprised at how many utd fans are making a case for Alexis to join City. It's hilarious.

We knew this would happen. City can play a dangerous game but all clubs know Arsenal control his contract till the summer. When he hits the summer all bets are off. PSG, Real Mardid all come into the market and then it's anyone's guess.

Promises in Jan mean nothing. I am not at all surprised Jose has started the auction while he is NOT a free agent.

He's into his final 6 months of his contract. He is free to flirt with any club he chooses to.

But the most criminal fact of this drama is allowing your most important attacking star player run down his contract. You need to blame the board for this.

But it isn't Wenger who sanctions and pays his wages. Yes Wenger has his faults on the field at times but your board are in disarray in terms of handling key player's contracts etc.

You really need to get your house in order. And yes i know our board isn't perfect, but we sure wouldn't allow this kind of incident to fester on for so long.

No? He's been your best player this season. Replacing him and Sanchez is gonna be really tough.
