It depends who’ll pay him the most, I imagine. It’d be nice if he based his choice on whether he wants to be part of a famous football club or part of a marketing strategy for an Arab state, but I can’t see it.

He did play him a lot though. They were only together for one season and Sánchez was injured a fair bit that year. He played when he was fit though.

Indeed Melton.

He had 41, 56 and 54 appearances in his three seasons at Barca.

Robb was talking rubbish again.

I don't think Pep was that big a fan of him at Barca though. Too crap in possession. Not so important for City as the style isn't the same.

He doesn’t mind that in one of the wide roles though, even at Barca. Agree that it’s even less relevant for us though.

Arsenal confirm they have accepted a few from Manchester United

I think it was a problem at Barca. Pedro, Villa and Messi had far better ball retention but as Villa broke his leg he couldn't play them that season.

I'm honestly surprised that Sanchez hasn't been linked with PSG yet or even Madrid, or am i missing something?

posted on 11/1/18

He has been linked with them.

Apparently his agent had been telling clubs it was a done deal and the Europeans find it hard to compete on wages. According to sky, man utd are willing to blow city out on wages so all those verbal nods to City are worth nothing now.

Could Arsenal afford his salary?

With all the limelight on United and City for his signature, i didn't really notice

Where the hell would he play for City, and who is going to get dropped?

We could but the relationship with other players is not so good.

It's not like City will pay him a pittance in accordance to what we could afford. Irrespective of if we can pay more wages, i still think his heart is set on City. Due to their style of play and manager.

Granted he may play less at City (quality of rotation squad size) compared to us, but i think he sees City as a more attractive 'project' right now.

It would be funny if wenger swapped him with utd for Mkhitaryan and City told Pep to go run and jump

Maybe it's not just wages that is his reasoning for wanting to leave?

Move to one club and win the premier league end of season, or move to another one and potentially end up with nothing. If I was a player, I know which one I would choose.

I think it’s comoletely fabricated, our ‘confirmed’ interest in Sanchez, and somehow either by Arsenal or his agent or some papers looking for a story we’re just being name dropped.

posted on 11/1/18

Sky seem to be reporting that United are actually in for Sanchez. They’re not quoting Sky Italy either.

Do you honestly think any of that matters? Players have a limited playing time. Bottom line is all. As utd are willing to offer much more than the rather pathetic £20m from city, arsenal prefer utd especially because they are also offering a player. Jose knows how to do business with wenger going back to gallas for cole. If City are counting on Alexis's promises then they are nuts. City are going to have to up their offer to arsenal and Alexis.

Well, if you're a Liverpool or Spurs fan then it's the taking part that counts ...apparently
