I am not sure these guys even make money out of it.
=======
Yes they do. Like a pimp makes money off 'his girls' - but still 'loves' them

They may be massive fans - but they have found a way to exploit the club for their own interests. It is no surprise it is mainly opposition fans defending AFTV - as they are the ones who watch it. And they are the ones the characters in this comedy cater to.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Absolute nonsense. There is no way Robbie pays everyone that shows up there. As a football fan first and foremost, I genuinely feel for those guys and can appreciate what they are saying. We have not really been pulling trees since Fergie retired. Is it entertaining, you are damn right. This place is also entertaining and that's why many of us come back here. If all of a sudden some popular posters here can make money, I bet set posters would stay and get the money

They do make money out of it though, that is an undeniable truth.

Every single individual that gets interviewed gets money?? I find it very hard to believe that

I've only ever watched a handful of AFTV shows, mostly ones that have been linked on here after a loss.

The guys on it are genuine Arsenal fans who follow the club home, away and abroad that's for sure. Robbie was on TalkSport earlier saying they are merely a platform for fans to have a voice, which to a certain extent is true however he is being a bit disingenuous as he knows as well as anyone that they get the most views after a negative result and it is their reaction to these results that have driven up viewing figures and subs to the point where AFTV is now his business, not a hobby.

I won't criticise anyone's entrepreneurial spirit though. You see Arsenal fans on here and other forums ranting and raving, Wenger in Wenger out etc. You here them on radio phone in's. AFTV is just another medium of that and if he can make a living out of it then fair play. I believe they praise the team after wins, do analysis during the week and have even had an interview with GNev so it's not all about the post defeat meltdowns, it's just that is every non Arsenal fans favourite bit therefore the bit that gets most shared therefore the bit they've become notorious for. And so what - it's business.

Also, one of the arguments for a medium such as AFTV is Arsenal does not afford it's fans a voice. Arsenal fans are constantly saying questions at AGM's get deflected, they are treated like customers not fans despite having the costliest gate prices in Europe, nothing changes etc etc so if the club won't give them a platform to be heard then why not a fan movement, and even better why not a fan movement that gains notoriety and popularity so at least the feelings of genuine Arsenal fans are very much in the public domain.

As for Bellerin - he needs to stop being a poof. Fans have been venting about player/club inadequacies for decades on phones in's etc - they are emotionally and financially invested in the club unlike some ponce who earns two or three times the annual salary of a fan in one week.

Good post. I believe the channel is established enough now to make money even if you guys keep winning.

Of course they do, they are sponsored by Ladbrokes and have nearly 700k subscribers. Some of their vids have been watched over a million times and are loaded with ads, and I wouldn't be surprised if they had their own website and merch. You start generating that much YouTube traffic and general interest and you'd be a mug if you weren't making money out of it. Robbie might be perceived by some as a cuuunt, but you can tell he's not stupid.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't think anyone is disputing Robbie makes money from it. We are talking here about the folks being interviewed

Are we? I thought we were talking about the people Bellerin critricised - "someone who claims to be a fan and their success is fed off a failure. How can that be a fan?
I think they're just people hustling, trying to make money their way, which everyone is entitled to do."

The likes of Claude, DJ DT are definitely also making money off it - whether directly or indirectly.

He wasn’t ranting about AFTV either. He was asked if he watches it a Q & A and he answered the question.

This article is a complete overreaction
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Whether he was "ranting" or not. The sentiment he expressed remains the same. I have only seen the excerpts on Sky and no matter how he delivered it, he still comes off a thin-skinned, entitled prat. Footballers get a lot of stick. You don't expect the decent ones to dismiss any of the fans as having worthless views which is pretty much what he did when he was talking about only listening to Wenger.

It's instructive that our fans believe this is normal. Fans at the AGM got shut down. Wenger himself has made it clear he doesn't give a rat's arrse about his detractors. Now you even have players repeating the sentiment and they're getting defended by fans.

Well Robbie hardly actually says something bad, he provides a platform for some fans to give your players a roasting when their performance warrants it. I am talking about the fans that go there and voice their opinion. They after all, are the people that make that channel so exciting

To the detriment of the club they love? Sounds like Hector was right.
As he said "trying to make money their way, which everyone is entitled to do."

To say a couple of fans voicing their opinion on youtube is detrimental to the club they love is a bit of an overreaction, and that is your opinion. I have been to Santiago Bernabau and seen first hand players getting abused- now that i call detrimental. I have never been to the Emirates so not sure this happens. One of the regulars (DT) from videos I have seen has been doing this since the days the channel was making sweet all. Good luck to him if he is making money now- I am not sure that is what he set out to get from it though. Robbie yes.

Of course it is. Who watches it? Rival fans wanting to laugh at Arsenal. Hardly good for the club is it?

The likes of DT, Troopz etc 100% make money off it. As much as they might be genuine fans, I highly doubt that while Robbie is raking in the cash that they’re just there for their love of arsenal and don’t get paid for any of their time.

Wenger. The coaches. How does that change my interpretation which is that he basically dismissed the critical views of fans - and make no mistake, that was basically the wider implication (that the critical views of fans have little worth).

You really think a footballer should listen to fans rather than the people paid to coach and develop him?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

What is he talking about "listening" to? Tactical critiques? Is anyone asking him to listen to the fans on the subtleties of proper defending? What exactly are we referring to here?

What do Arsenal fans on AFTV say that fans of other big clubs do not say? What would the prat do then if he moved to Madrid or Barca which have local papers pretty much devoted to savaging underperforming managers or players and fans that frequently whistle, boo and jeer their own players in the stands?
