Premier Leagues most expensive flop

I’d saying paying 89m for one of the hottest properties in football when we weren’t a CL team made sense

Paying 35m for Andy chuffin Carroll 7 years ago on the other hand...I mean what’s 35m now? That’s like 150m in today’s fees

posted on 27/3/18

He helped us win a lower tier trophy though and that means loads and loads.

Plus we got about 70% back in resale so not all bad.

But Pogba hasn’t left yet which is why I wanted him left out

We have no idea what we will recoup

So what’s your inflation rate then?

35m in 7 years of football fees would be atleast treble what it was then

£35,000,000 is actually worth £44,000,000 in today's money.

All joking aside, got to be Carroll hasn't it? Surely?

£35m for someone who should be working on the doors

What makes him worse than Mangala or Pogba?

Plus I'm told winning the league cup is massive.

Money is money. I'd hate to think you're just making stuff up is all. You sure you're okay?

The fact he doesn't remotely resemble a footballer

He is literally useless

Pogba was bought before Neymar inflation. He would cost at least double had you gone to Juve now.

So I could by zidane (of his pomp) today for a mere fraction more than he cost when he joined Madrid? Be serious.

Torres would’ve been worth far more than £50m today which means you’d of paid a lot more for Carroll

Can you ever be serious?

I don't think I need to, one good season at Newcastle tells its own story
And the fact Ashley was prepared to sell him for £1m only the season before

Di Maria.
Performed for less than half a season. Never wanted to be in England, let alone Manchester. Can't stand the rat face.

Unless I’m mistaken Aguero was signed in 2011 for 30m so based on hoody’s understanding of football inflation you could pick him up today for 34m

I actually don’t think you could buy the 2018 Aguero for 34m let alone the 2011 one...

No it means Zidane would have cost £65.6m in today's money.

Can you ever be serious.

Zidane for 65m

Are you mad?!

If he was in his heyday right now he’d be available for 65m

Yes that's what I'm saying.
