See, you're now applying the words I am using in the literal sense, which is what you moaned at me for doing - incorrectly, I might add.
We us words like total and complete frequently, as part of an expression.
For example, I think you're a total moron.
Now, obviously I don't think you're a moron at every moment of every day. You are sensible on occasion I am sure and as you say, you’re capable of dressing yourself. The word total is an embellishment and part of the expression.
You see how it works?
Most people will be quite clear what I mean when I call you a total moron. As I’m sure will you, as you’re actually not 100% a moron, just partly a moron.
Now, you should understand that when I use the term flop i.e. total failure, I don’t believe the player achieved absolutely nothing - no goals, no assists, nothing at all. I just think that failed as a player for that club, in many respects such as what they were signed for, value for money, performance levels overall etc.
I am using the term flop (or total failure) correctly, though not as a literal term.
You, on the other hand, are using the term incorrectly. You are trying to call a player who may well not even be 50% into their United career, someone who is a first team regular and possibly may improve if/when Mourinho leaves, as a flop.
It doesn’t work because it’s too soon. There is too much potential for him to succeed at United for that tag to be applied.
You’re not embellishing the term, you’re changing its meaning altogether. What you’re doing is the equivalent of judging and labelling someone’s life’s works after half of their expected life. It’s flawed.
If I said you're life is a total failure based on the fact that at present, you're absolutely useless as an individual, that would be wrong. It might well be that you never learn your lesson and life will indeed be a total failure, but it's too early to really make that judgement.
You can of course say that Pogba is playing poorly and unless things pick up, he’ll be labelled a flop. But that is fundamentally not the same thing.
I’m not sure why I bothered explaining this because of course, you’re not capable of understanding the point. But hey ho, I suppose miracles can happen.
Of course, I’m stubborn and will persist. Most people would have given up on you a while back. It’s the way I am on here, certainly. But I’d certainly take that as a fault over yours any day of the week.
Maybe read this a few times before replying. Try to digest it.
I am right to use the terminology I’m using, it’s just about whether you have the intelligence to understand why.
Good luck with that.

You just condensed all the rubbish you've been talking throughout this thread into one comment. Christ.
If you're saying it's subjective, that's fine, I agree. Using the subjective term, Pogba in my opinion is the most expensive flop. If you don't agree with me and most other people on this thread then that's fine too but don't tell me I'm wrong because it means something on one hand and then tell me not to take the words literally on another. It doesn't make sense.
I can say Pogba is thus far a flop and I have, with good reason. If he turns it around then he won't be seen as a flop. No matter how many years a player has on his contract, since we can't predict the future, we go on the years on his contract which have passed. Maybe it's time you applied the common sense you spoke of earlier here? People called Carroll a flop whilst he still played for Liverpool. His contract had nothing to do with it. It was mainly his cost which people had issue with, he was judged against that. My reasoning for Pogba being a flop so far is that he simply hasn't performed anywhere near as good as he should be, on any sort of consistency and has been dropped for a youth product who isn't very good himself.
I don't know what more you want from me but I think you could go with this even longer than I can, so if it's the win you want, fine, have it. You win. I'll keep my opinion and you can have the win.
There'sOnlyOneReds (U1721)
It's confirmed, you are actually stupid.
"I can say Pogba is thus far a flop"
Sure, you can say it. And you're wrong.
The idea you can be a flop in 2018 and not a flop in 2019 is moronic.
It's not about winning. I am right and you are wrong.
It's that simple and if you'd taken my advice, read my comments several times before jumping into a reply, you may have realised that.
But you don't.
You've decided what you want to say before you've even thought about what I have actually written.
You have a deep, deep personality flaw in that you're utterly incapable of understanding any other view than the one in that empty head of yours.
Which is why, on the Suarez debate, you had a direct quote in front of you and still couldn't realise why you were wrong.
It's sheer delusion and the only saving grace for you is that you're so ignorant, you're living in bliss.
It's not moronic at all.
Take the Aspas example.
When at Liverpool described as 'is a flop'
Now described as 'was a flop at Liverpool but now a very good player scoring goals in La Liga and for Spain.
You can be a flop and then later not be a flop. I don't see what you can't understand about this. You can call me stupid all you like but I understand this point and you don't and it shouldn't take a great deal of intelligence to understand it.
"You have a deep, deep personality flaw in that you're utterly incapable of understanding any other view than the one in that empty head of yours."
No that's you Winston, ask anybody. I understand your view, I just disagree with it.
As I said before being a 'flop' is subjective, it's not a term set in stone in terms of a football player. Therefore people will have different opinions on who has been a flop or not. You're incapable of understanding that.
There'sOnlyOneReds (U1721)

I will call it a lack of intelligence, because it is.
The definition is quite clear. It's not part of a period of time, part of a performance, part of a life.
It is total failure.
If you've totally failed at a club you can't then totally succeed.
So fecking basic.
Is Lindelof a flop yet?
How soon exactly do you think you can apply that label?

This is the most rubbish comment I have ever read on ja606. It's a car crash. Give it up

I stand corrected. This is

No that's you Winston, ask anybody. I understand your view, I just disagree with it.
As I said before being a 'flop' is subjective, it's not a term set in stone in terms of a football player. Therefore people will have different opinions on who has been a flop or not. You're incapable of understanding that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And as I have told you before, that is fine, but there are certain players who cannot be labelled a flop i.e. those that are only partially through their time at a club and still very much part of the first team.
Was Bale a flop>? Was Vidic a flop?
And the only flaw with me is that I'm stubborn on here.
I'll take that over your lack of intelligence and flawed personality, for sure.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You can call it a lack of intelligence all you want but so far in his two seasons Pogba is a flop. He hasn't performed well enough. He has been playing way below expectations. We are talking about the present and the past, we can't predict the future.

It's not a rule.
It's the meaning of the word that dictates it, you buffoon.

Where in the meaning of the word does it say that you can't label a player a flop if he still plays for the club he's flopping at?

I will call it a lack of intelligence, because it is.
The definition is quite clear. It's not part of a period of time, part of a performance, part of a life.
It is total failure.
If you've totally failed at a club you can't then totally succeed.
So fecking basic.
Is Lindelof a flop yet?
How soon exactly do you think you can apply that label?
Think about what you're saying ffs.

No you can't totally fail at a club then totally succeed. You can however fail up to a certain point and then turn it around and your overall time at the club is seen as a success. That may happen but thus far Pogba is a flop.

Winston, you're the only one agreeing with you. Give it a rest. TOOR is right, you are wrong.
