Spangles has an agenda with Saiss. Always the fall guy for him. Thought he was terrific last year, however would upgrade if possible.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I actually thought Saiss and N'Daiye, as well as the central striker position; were the weakest links in our system last season.
Saiss was guilty of cutting back to his left foot every game when the best option was a pass on his right foot. Took the tempo out of our attacks too often and we were always going to require an upgrade this season if we are serious about our ambitions. Having watched him at centre back for Morocco, I'm not really sure he is the answer there either.
Ok as a back up player to cover for a couple of positions, but I would have been seriously disappointed if he was our number one option this season in any position.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Saiss was one of our most important players for me last season, it was noticeable that our form dropped off in the spell when ndiaye got game time and Neves looked his best with Saiss as well.
Regarding Cav, he was out best attacking outlet for the second half of last season so surprises me that dj still think he is one to upgrade on, I actually think he will prove to be better than Costa at this level and was certainly the better of the two last season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think Costa will prove to be our best attacker this season.
disagree that Saiss was one of our most important players. Neves was the most important player in that position and Boly and Coady at the back. Saiss had a good season, but his limitations were obvious for the majority of it and we always needed to upgrade if our ambitions are serious.
One in. João caiado to join the u23's
Agree to disagree Tam
Bigger things on the horizon today hopefully and regardless Saiss is certainly a back up now with the business we have already done and likely to do.
I reckon Dendoncker will be it today though and so long as we don't sell cav then business will have been pretty good overall but if we do sell cav with no more attackers coming in then I will be very disappointed with our work from an attacking perspective
Another CB must be coming in

I don't disagree Saiss is good back up. Just don't think he should be first choice at this level with our ambitions.
I wouldn't sell Cav. I think him, Traore, Costa and Jota are a great quartet to have to choose from. I do think it is more likely that Cav will be influencing games from the bench more often than not this season though.
With regards to Costa, he has bulked up over the summer and looks stronger. On his day he is unplayable and I think he is most skilful out of the Portuguese attackers. The options of him and Adama (I imagine only one will start) off the bench as games open up are incredible.
Dendonker at training ground now.
I'm probably the only one who is not bothered about Zinchenko not signing for us, but what's new? I may be the only one who has watched him in their pre season friendlies too. In my opinion, he's not a wing back, but will probably play in a central midfield role if he gets a chance at City.
Tamwolf, I'm not surprised at Saiss cutting back onto his left foot so often, after all he's a left footed player and it was wrong to play him as a right sided CB. He plays well for Morocco and if he doesn't start in midfield, then he will be a suitable back up should Boly be unavailable.
I'd keep Cavaleiro as well, but if he isn't getting game time come January, then he'll probably want away, especially as someone on here thinks there's a problem with him and Nuno.

More reason to celebrate. They love buying utter cross from us, don't they. Perhaps we can ship Danny there.

Zinchenko played several times for Man City last season at left wing back. I imagine most people on here have seen him play at some point.
He was playing centre midfield last season which is what the conversation was about. Any player who wants to make it at the top of the game shouldn't repeatedly have to cut back onto their favoured foot if a pass is on.
I have repeatedly explained to you why Nuno plays him on the right side and Boly on the left. You have ignored it every single time, so I can't be bothered to have that discussion again.
*Saiss was playing centre midfield
Cav's twitter activity making it look like he's off. Probably Fulham given that he was in London on Tuesday.
Danny Simpson makes sense
There goes the marquee signing.

To be honest I'm not disapointed, I have been impressed with pretty much everyone we have been linked with, but this guy I couldn't see it.
Much better ways to spend that sort of money.
Agree, i don't think we are in a position to be spending that big on one player as yet
It wasn't the money, it was the quality. From what I could make out on youtube, to me I was left very underwhelmed.
You are cool with us spending 53 million now
Zinchenko played about 8 games for City last season and every one was at LB in a City back four, not as a wing back in a 3-4-3 system that we play. He just doesn't have the pace. Maybe I missed the reason you gave about him playing on the right side and Boly on the left. Clearly it didn't work the other day or he wouldn't have been dragged off at HT.

You did miss it. That was about Saiss and was corrected in the very next post.
I also don't recollect Saiss playing in any other position than a left sided midfield partner with Neves and they made a good pairing Imo.
Moses would be a great loan signing, rather him than Danny Simpson.
